point is typing out long posts on a cell phone would drive me insane

also i work during the day, hence the computer

- Crimsoninja

I work overnight and always on the move during the day hence the cell phone. Does suck sometimes when hit wrong letter and auto correct pops in. That's why I sometimes post in non complete senTences and caps and such.

That's bannable. Referencing any trade by howson can never be made to make a point. Hehe
- SMS4016

The point is, there are other moving parts in every trade. It's not as simple as "this seems fair, let's do it". Young, high potential defenseman are extremely coveted right now and the market dictates that you'll have to over pay for one. Supply and demand. Simple.

No I said core too young. The will hit prime in a few years. Get younger with them now. Bryz would have been great in 2010. Not 2016 wHen he's 36 declining with huge cap hit. Got news for ya we will be lucky to make playoffs this year and we aren't winning cup so why soo afraid to go young and deal with the growing pains with all the pieces instead of standing pat and growing pains and still needing the pieces in a few years
- SMS4016

You keep going on about it being a huge cap hit. When he is 36 his cap hit will not be so huge. How are you not getting this?

The overall cap will be higher, and his cap hit will be a smaller % of the whole. What is huge now will not be so huge then.

And as for not winning the cup this year, of course we arent winning the cup this year. SO, you stick with what you have and add what you can in free agency instead of making all these ridiculous video game trade proposals you seem to love.

Ill tell you what, if one of the teams in your mind will JUMP in a second at any of your trade proposals, you can pretty much guess its a ridiculous trade. You do not seem to grasp that it takes two teams to make a deal. In your fantasy hockey world it seems you believe that the other team in the deal is irrelevant and they will just say ok!

Every single trade you have proposed would either be laughed at my the other team, or be severely over paying from our end. I guess which depends on what ridiculous trade you have put forth.

Now is the time to stand firm. And shore up weaknesses in the off season when calmer heads are prevailing.

I worked with a Pens fan for 6 months and ate lunch with him everyday. It was fun going back and forth after the games. One of my other friends is also a Pens fan and that playoff series was also a ton of fun to go back and forth with. Tbh I find it more fun to befriend rival fans than to make them my enemy.

I have said many times over the years I'd rather talk puck with an opponents' fan than talk other sports with Philly fans.

If thats the case, Giroux is one bad hit away from a ruined career as well. Plus, Neal has never had concussion problems
- cap1681

Giroux missed 30 games last season due to multiple concussions? I must have missed that.

Neal's only concussion issues are suspensions from when he tries to cause them with dirty hits.

I think a perfect example of this is when the Penguins traded Alex Goligoski to Dallas...Goligoski is a nice player but not worth Neal and Niskinen

I look forward to G, Coots, Schenn down the middle for a long time.
- FlyerLifer

And do also look forward to 4 or 5 years down the line when all this players get big contracts and we loose someone like we lost gags and get a walker back so we can save a few mill Cause were in cap hell or do you prefer trading one of them down the road like Pitt did with staal and getting squat back?

No, but he did miss games last season for one, and then went to see Crosby's doctors this past November.

I agree as long as they are reasonable...My cousins friend is a huge Pens fan but is also down to earth and reasonable about it.. He might be my favorite person to talk pucks with

One funny story I have on this is my other friend who loathes everything Pittsburgh (can't stand it) including their fans. He's always saying how much he hates Pens' fans and our mutual friend is the Pens' fan I mentioned earlier. So everytime he starts ranting and raving about how much he hates their fans I say, "Well what about Dave?"and he comes back with "that's different" and then I have to explain to him that it's not.

I will predict it until he does.

Available is relative term. Availability is influenced by what an offer might be.

As a starting point, I hope Holmgren is having regular discussions with Phoenix. They have a strong roster of Dmen. Maybe Holmgren can find a formula of players and $000 that would see him consider OEL as his first target.

- spatso

OEL is totally untouchable, sorry to break this to you.

Rundblad could be had, Yandle is playing very well now and not likely going anywhere either. We need a puck mover more than a stay at home, I would go for Rundblad and use him exclusively on the pp. I like Voracek on the right point and paired with Rundblad you would have two pretty smooth guys on the point.

legit cant imagine posting from a cell phone all day
- Crimsoninja

I do it because we're allowed to but not allowed to use Internet at work while not on lunch except for work purposes. They watch over us too. However, I know how to use punctuation, spelling, & capitalization properly.

But hey, as long as the owners' old dog can crap and pee on the rug all winter and get free kennel services from people paid to do office work, I guess I can't complain.
