Less than that.

The Avalanche probably need defense and probably wouldn't mind replacing O'Reilly with a center. Problem is, they can't take Grabovski because if they could do that, they would have just paid O'Reilly already. Liles, they could fit. Familiar face, veteran and they need the help on defense.

The trick would be to find a team willing to take Grabovski and have them give up the additional pieces required to acquire O'Reilly.
Like I said though, three way deals rarely ever happen in the NHL anymore. Still something the Leafs should consider.

Yes, Two for Truth.

That sure would be the trick.

I would guess it would be one of rielly, Gards or kadri a first and a player like Biggs purcy or Finn
- The_Vark

Won't be that high. This is the same team that traded Stewart and Shattenkirk for Erik Johnson.

Or a first rounder... but you would be looking at that from a sensible view...

No, you were sure it would cost Gardiner, Rielly, Kadri and a 1st. That's what you were sure of.
- Two_For_Truth

you guys need to read entire posts

he said "A" gardiner, rielly kadri and a first

which means "one of"

Garbage stat that is not properly assessed in all rinks much like the hits stat, don't go by that, the numbers are exaggerated.

You are making a lot of ifs... they don't have to trade him.. they can make him suffer and sit... until he agrees... it is not like they are forced to do this deal.

They want a return if he leaves.

yeah and after a GM makes a dumb move they make sure the next one is a good one, ask Burke.

Fair enough, and it would also be nice to get rid of garbo's 5.5 mill if we're goin to take on oreillys asking price

but i'm just taking ur three way trade and running with it

i would assume kuli has more value to pitt than anyone else if geno truly wants to play with him

- dragus84

Does anyone have him quoted saying this???

Seriously, where did this rumor come from..?

Yes, they most certainly do have to trade him as this situation gets worse. This is like saying the Canucks don't have to trade Luongo. Yes, they do. Just a matter of time. It's pretty evident that he wants something that the Avalanche can't give it to him.

Must explain why they traded Anderson for Elliot, let Elliot walk for nothing then traded a 1st for Varlamov. Because clearly, they don't ever make more than one dumb move.

It is what they have asked for.. I am not saying that is what teams will give them..

If the Leafs can get him for spare parts like Liles, Mac A, Connolly, and a 2nd rounder... than do the deal...

but you are smoking crack if you think that will happen..

- DoctorNHL

They would like to trade but if they don't get what they want.. it won't happen.. For Vancouver & the Avs..

as you have seen the Cans have done well enough in spite of the controversy... playing two goalies...

Neither team has to make a trade... they both want compensation for their assets.. even tho the Luongo contract might never see him traded.

Have you ever watched O'Reilly play? It's not a garbage stat. He's very astute defensively and is very good at creating turnovers through hard work. I guess Datsyuk's takeaways are a garbage stat too.

Kulemin had great value after he scored 30. Since then, it's probably as low as it's ever been. Malkin might want to play with him but the Penguins aren't going to give up a lot just for that reason.

You can keep the crack.. not interested... maybe you can sell some more to Two for the Truth tho... because he couldn't read it right either.

Too many teams calling for RoR for someone to steal him.

I bet the first team to put a good young affordable PMD on the table as the centrepiece going back gets him.

Think we can wrap Franson up in a Gardiner jersey and sell them on him?

With a shortened season, the only trades the Leafs should make would be the ones that rip-off whoever they are trading with...The off season will give them plenty of time to upgrade in vital areas of need...No need to panic right now...
