You don't think we should've beaten Ottawa or Florida?
Essentially, this is what the argument boils down to... - Pen15
Im not being specific to any one game. Im basically making the point that whether you like the way we looked or not, systematically those are the types of games you'll be seeing at least until we get some more dynamic offensive talent. |

Of course they shouldn't have. Letting up 0 goals against just shows how horrible they played. When all you can muster is 3 goals a game and give up none, you're not going to win many games in this league. |

They're 7th overall in the NHL in goals scored per game. Kids, settle down.
Lets not violate our poo holes because this team isn't winning 6-0 every night. Lots of youth and inexperience on this team, trying to learn a new system. These nights will happen. |

Carolina played their backup and their D isn't stellar. We couldn't even get close to their net to test Ellis.
Ottawa has no talent left. Outside of the 3 goals they didn't test Andserson.
FLA sucks royal and they were in it all game. The Leafs too advantage of misscues but never really created anything.
TB. they were alseep all game until the last 5 mins.
They have been rock solid the last 4 games. ![](https://hbcf.s3.amazonaws.com/images/emoticons/lol.gif) - burn
Welcome to Randy Carlyle hockey. If you think this team is going to do anything but win ugly the rest of this year you clearly haven't been watching. |

It's good to see some sense on here...
According to some, we played like poop against Ott & Fla - two of the teams we happened to shutout. |

Totally agree. That's Carlyle hockey. Defensive - clog up the neutral zone, don't chase in your own end, and generate scoring opportunities off other teams miscues.
As I mentioned earlier in this thread, this teams magic number seems to be +/- 3. In most of our wins, we've kept our opponents to less than 3 goals, while we've potted at least 3 ourselves. Not an offensive juggernaut by any stretch. |

They played well, and played good enough to win. I think people expected blowouts, and when that didn't happen they felt the team didn't have a good game. I dont get what they're thinking, to be honest, nor do I care. Sounds like a lot of unnecessary whining over nothing.
UG clones in full force. Tank. Tear it down. Everything sucks. Kessel must be traded. |

Even though the score was only 3-0 in both those games, it felt like a blowout watching it. I mean, how many times (compared to years past), were you expecting them to give up the lead and lay an egg? Even at 1-0, I wasn't worried at all. Gave up very few odd man rushes, almost no second chances. Solid all around.

Thats exactly it right there. Well said. At no point in either of those games did I feel that there was a reason to think they wouldnt win. Had the game in hand from the start with no threat at any point they may not win the game. |

They're on their way to a Cup. I think its pretty obvious they're the real deal. Teams like Boston will crumble before them. |

Question: At what age did people find birthdays stop being fun? Or do you still find them fun? I turn 29 today and really not all that excited for it. My guess is my 25th bday was the last one I enjoyed. |

Carlyle must have threatened them with a bag skate in the last 3 minutes.
But, Fraser vs. Aulie? C'mon, that was worth the price of admission alone. We will be able to harness enough puns from that to keep us going through the whole season.
Also, like I said in the other thread, Kulemin is starting to grate on me. - Leeman4Gilmour
I think the Kulemin project is over soon, send him to Pittsburgh for whatever you can get for him and include it in the package to send over to COL for ROR. Trade Grabo if you can
line combo's look something like;
JVR, Bozak, Kessel
Lupul, ROR, MacArthur
Fratin, Kadri, Komorov
Brown, McLemment, ORR/McLaren
No real superstars (other than maybe Kessel) but a balanced group all the same.

Some fans just miss Wilson and his style of hockey. If the Leafs aren't scoring 5 goals a game, they suck. Fans in Toronto haven't seen defensive hockey in ages, and have no clue what it looks like and how to react to it. Don't be so hard on them. Leafs suck, let them enjoy it. - systemtool
Wilson...*shudder*.
Bad night, and too many defensive end turnovers for a few games in a row now. Their transition game sucks at the moment for some reason. They have the puck in their own end but don't move it or themselves quick enough and they get in trouble. |
