I'm fine with doing all kinds of trades with this team. Just don't (frank)ing second guess them... Yeah Roy is putting up more points than Ott this year. Is that why we traded for Ott? P.S. Ott won us a game in Montreal that we should have lost. How many times can you guys remember that Roy (frank)ed up in the final minutes of a game? DON'T YOU REMEMBER WHY WE HATED ROY!?
Don't trade: Vanek, Miller, Ott, Myers, Grigorenko, Ehrhoff.
Caveats: Hodgson/Ennis - MUST get a good 2-way center who can win faceoffs; Pominville - MUST get a proven, skilled veteran player (not O'Rielly)
Must trade: Stafford, Enroth, Leopold
Everyone else can be traded too for the right price or packaged.
I would LOVE for Lindy to get fired too. I really think he is the problem.
the problem is our defense blows and people on our team at times dont care. drury did not have elite talent but he played all out every shift and tried to matter every shift. guys on this team dont. meyers thinks he's god's gift to buffalo. vanek takes shifts off. stafford takes games off. foligno is not skating like his job depends on it. our 4th best defenseman is sulzer who was a throw in trade for gragnani.

I agree with most of your points but I will say this:
1. Ruff's time might be up in Buffalo but I think the difference in the standings with a different coach would be minimal. When you're second last in your conference you've clearly got way more problems than poor coaching.
2. On your Hodgson/Ennis/Pominville idea, I would try to work a deal for a young or middle aged defenseman that can put up points and play 22 minutes a night (essentially another Tyler Myers, the good version) since that seems to be our biggest flaw.
3. What I would really like to see is for them to pull a Toronto Blue Jays off-season (sorry for the baseball reference). Empty the farm for an elite player or multiple players. If they really wan't to compete for the cup at this point it's either do that or start from scratch. something along the lines of Armia, Pysyk, McCabe and a 1st for player X.

The guy sitting in front of me at the game tonight yelled at me for female doging about how bad this team is.
Apparently he doesn't know the difference between good and bad hockey. - HonkFortheGoose
it depends on if you did it all night or just once in a while. to be honest, if i was at a game where people booed that much, and i might be because i've got tickets to the rangers and bruins games in march, i'm not sure after a while if i'd lose my mind or just start crying. i know this team is bad but for christ's sake, the players on the ice are people too and that can't feel good. i know no one on here problems cares or agrees with what i'm typing, but at the very least, i'm afraid some of our only good players might not like the booing and ask to be traded or just not resign when it's time, which will hurt us even more (vanek, miller, ott are names i'm thinking of).

I think the three things we need to address first are:
1. Stay at home defenseman to replace Regehr, and put up big minutes.
2. 2-way/defensive center who supports the defensemen moving up the ice and can consistently win faceoffs (Can we just get Gaustad back?) Not even saying he needs to be top-2 line here.
3. Scoring winger. A pure finisher. Doesn't have to be flashy or elite.
I don't like the idea of using multiple prospects to get an 'elite' player. Who would we get? Malkin? Stamkos? Datsyuk? No way in HELL we ever get a player like that, and that is the only type of player I would trade all of those prospects for. We would have better luck keeping those prospects IMO then getting what we would get at market for them, which wouldn't sufficiently meet our needs. This isn't baseball, their farms are muuuuuch much larger. I think the whole idea of making big moves would be to commit to developing our young players.

Look at the elite teams. They had to suck for multiple years, draft really high to get their franchise center....
Step one: Suck at Hockey
Step two: Get lucky in the lottery to pick 1st
Step 3: Draft Franchise Center
Steo 4: Get new coach

These guys make millions of dollars to play a GAME. When they play well do we cheer for them? Yes we do, and they prob like that correct? then friggin do something to get those cheers. you get booed when your out there and dont give a F. I have no problem with fans booing. if these guys dont like it play harder or go find another career. If this team worked its ass of night in and night out and were still losing they would not get booed, but they do not. They drag ass, run around like they have never played D before oh and cannot do squat on the PP.

What coach in his right mind would bench the leaugue points leader? - rapperray
Not sure if he did Ray.
I think he removed him from the line with Pommers and Hodgson and put him with Ennis and Foligno for a few shifts.
I dont think he technically 'benched him'. Not 100% sure on that though.
Waiting to find out more from PHam.
