The blog could build for the future, however, much like the Flyers should consider doing. |

They traded two players of last year's roster for Nash -- Dubinsky and Anisimov. Who, in their right mind, would not have made that trade? Maybe you can argue that that they should have brought back one or more of Fedetenko, Prust or Mitchell, but still, they had to make that trade. - Pete V
Depth is crucial and they sacrificed a lot of it last summer imho. |

See this is where my point comes into play: They were VERY close last year and boom, they tear it down over the summer in order to acquire Nash. Why not be patient? - Pecafan Fan
tear it down?
they traded Dubinsky, who didn't play half the playoff games and didn't score once and had a 4.25 million cap hit.
Anisimov is a good young player, but Hagelin is obviously better.
Erixon was a prospect that Columbus has been making a healthy scratch.
Not sure what they "tore down"
If Dubinsky was still here he'd be the top candidate for the other amnesty buyout |

Well, if need be, Slats can always fleece the Habs in another trade to acquire depth. JK.
Edit: But seriously, if the Rangers had to do it over again, the only thing I would have done different is keep Prust. They wouldn't have had to pay him 4 years/10 million if he didn't get to July 1st. |

the Nash trade has not been the problem for the Rangers.
It's been letting Prust, Fedotenko and Mitchell go and replacing them with Halpern, Asham and Pyatt
and an extremely horrible powerplay |

prust, feds, mitchell, anisemov and dubie

On the PP, maybe they should just stop coaching it. I mean, could it be any worse if they just told these guys to go out there and do whatever the hell you want? I seriously think that would be more effective. |

Feds is a 142 years old and has alot of wear on the tires. Prust has herpies. Don't know why they didn't keep Mitchell. |
