They are taking precautions with his groin. Ottawa is a gritty team. Right decision in my opinion. - Nomad91
sure... his groin
explains why he's not even traveling |

Great.
This is clearly more serious then anyone is willing to let on.. The rangers better not come out with that effort against the Sens. This is not a team they should lose to - TrueBlue9182
well, you know what, Ottawa doesn't have Spezza or Karlsson, so we better win no matter what |

Exactly my point. If they dont win this game we have big problems. |

The goaltender, however, is having an absurdly good season. It's the type of game that has the potential to be real frustrating. |

Last night's game was the worst game in the history of professional hockey, so it will be hard to beat that.

Montreal created a new system. It's call the Ice Trap. Crowd the neutral zone and ice the puck any time the other team puts pressure on your zone.

And keep the play along the boards for the most part. They did that on the road a lot so far.
It's (frank)ing painful to watch.
That being said, the Rangers style of play has been pretty boring as well for quite a few years now. |

They were gassed and were trying to gut out a tough road win. You have to give them credit, but I sure hope what they did doesn't serve as a model for other teams to try it.

If the Rangers don't start scoring some goals with all this talent, we're going to trade Torts to the Ducks for Bruce Boudreau, and start playing some river hockey. |

The rangers were boring because they didn't score. They played a high tempo though. |

I've been thinking, maybe the Rangers are simply making too much changes to their lineup year after year for the team to grow together and become a real contender?
A little like the Flyers, if you will? |

I don't care how a team wins it's games, however you do it, more power to you.
But last night was the first time I ever saw a team with an actual strategy to ice the puck every 3 minutes.
And the first Montreal goal never should have happened because it came after the only missed icing of the night. |

I understand your point, in that there was a lot of turnover this past summer, but let's be honest, they came within 1 point of winning the President's Trophy last year, and lost in overtime of Game 6 of the ECF. I think they were a real contender last year, irrespective of some annual turnover. |

#NYR announce Rick Nash is not traveling with the team to Ottawa. Team says Nash may join teammates in Montreal. - jimbro83
If you have a sore groin you travel with the team and get treatment there. If you have a concussion, they usually don't let you fly. Ugh, this sucks.

See this is where my point comes into play: They were VERY close last year and boom, they tear it down over the summer in order to acquire Nash. Why not be patient? |

They traded two players of last year's roster for Nash -- Dubinsky and Anisimov. Who, in their right mind, would not have made that trade? Maybe you can argue that that they should have brought back one or more of Fedetenko, Prust or Mitchell, but still, they had to make that trade. |
