Perry would look real good in a Senators jersey this summer as a UFA
I would be scared of trading for him at deadline then him leaving in the summer if I were any GM.

I feel like James Neal would need to be included in any trade for Perry. Does Pittsburgh have any valuable prospects that they'd move? (I'm actually asking, I don't know). And Pittsburgh draft picks are always gonna be near the end of the round, so those don't have a ton of value.

And to the Leafs guy on the first page of comments who listed like 14 players that are "untouchable" on Toronto: You're effing with us right? There's over ten players on your below average NHL team that you wouldn't trade for a Hart trophy winner?

We would probably need to get Gardiner back in a trade for Perry. And we'd definitely like some Toronto draft picks, those are always high!

Who is Leinno? Plus we have 1 GM, not GM's
- sbroads24

Sorry I'm typing from a phone and in a rush. Maybe you should have an assistant GM (Gm's) like most other teams. Maybe you would have a cup by now.

Still didn't answer my question.

Ottawa, like any team with cap space, should make an offer if he becomes a UFA. They need someone to replace Alfie, and they become a legit cup contender with a guy like Perry.

Doesn't hurt that Murray drafted him too

As a leafs fan, this is my worst nightmare... I guess we'll just have to wait and see

I really do hope they can open up the wallet for him. I also hope they can somehow trade for Yandle. But a man can dream can't he?

Flyerbuzz continues. The Flyers are in on everything that pops up. I'm sure if the Blue Jackets were rumored to be trading a bag of pucks and five broken sticks that Eklund report "Flyers have interest in key Blue Jackets prospects"
- trolleytracks

It's not just the Flyers. The Rangers are usually brought up too because it's easy to assume that they'll be in the running due. It's a guessing game more than anything...and wishful thinking on his part when it comes to the Flyers.

Nonsense. The Ducks are performing swimmingly and they already said their priority is to re-sign Getzlaf and Perry, both. There's no reason to move either without an unbelievable offer. The Penguins want to re-sign Malkin and Letang so they aren't going to hand over a bunch of prospects to get Perry for a few months. He would be tough to bring back along with those two. The Rangers? Didn't they just get Nash? What do they have to give up that won't be a detriment to their defense? Are they going to give up JT Miller? Del Zotto? I don't think either have the desire to go there. Maybe a Clowe/Stewart/Iginla type. That's what I see.

Perry and Getz are both going to re-sign with Anaheim. They love the team and coaching here plus the lifestyle and no media pressure. Both will give the home team discount to make it work.

Neal is as untouchable as Malkin, Crosby, and Letang. 40 goal scorer at a very friendly cap hit. The Penguins have a deep defensive pool of prospect, especially at the puck moving D-man area.

A whole article and you choose to make one line the focus, "Depending on where the Flyers are in the standings, they would also have to be considered a club that would become involved."

Which part of that line is not correct?
Which team would not give consideration to going after a player like Perry or Getzlaf?

Start Emery. Schneider is playing for Vancouver, so odds are, you get the W in that one. Scrivens vs. the #1 offensive team in the NHL could be bad... Hope the Leafs win, but speaking from a betting perspective.

So the Pens are going to go after Perry when they have to resign Malkin in the next year + ? And the other major player in the Perry sweeps is the Rangers who are already near the cap? Hmm, can I take option C and bet the field?
- uf1910

That's why he threw in the Flyers as another possibility near the end. Pretty much find the 3 teams in the East that are most active via FA and include them in any roomer.

You would think that the Rangers and Penguins are the last two teams in the East who could accommodate Perry, at least without moving one of their other big pieces.
