Flyerbuzz continues. The Flyers are in on everything that pops up. I'm sure if the Blue Jackets were rumored to be trading a bag of pucks and five broken sticks that Eklund report "Flyers have interest in key Blue Jackets prospects" - trolleytracks
I agree this is Flyersbuzz but as a flyers fan I know that Homer wants a stud winger to play with Giroux...Last year it was Parise and this year(if available) it will be perry |

Didn't Toews just fight Thornton? Visor and all. - stormey
Yes. Yes he did. I'm sure the fellow criticising Perry will have a perfectly good explanation once he removes his foot from his mouth. He may be a while. |

he's from toronto, which means there is no way he will live in a boring ass city like ottawa after being born and raised in peterborough - sensnucksnocups
Peterborough is a town of crackheads...I'm sure he could live in Ottawa with $7m/yr hell he could even go back to Peterborough with that money. |

If he's from Toronto, how can he have been born and raised in Peterborough? Also, unless you know him, how do you or I or anyone else here know whether he prefers urban life to something smaller?

Already looked through it, can't find anything good besides injuries. It's for my Pool, we want to include a LTIR option but we need to find somewhere that keeps a list of who is on it or not. A lot of site says a player "X" is on, but other sites doesn't say anything. |

Ducks have one of the best teams in hockey. They will not trade anyone this season, EK you have failed the system!

Another update to do nothing but create hits. Nothing to see here.
Rags don't have the cap room to make a move and I don't see Shero putting together a package of a first round pick and a top D prospect plus for a rental in Perry. Unless you are 100% sure you can resign him and in this instance, you aren't - no sense making this deal even though he would look great in Pittsburgh.
That said, Anaheim is running away with its division as it stands now; is second in the West and is playing well. Unless they lose 20 in a row, I don't see them trading Perry. No one is going to give up an impact player off its current roster that can offset the loss of Perry. |

Kunitz, Kennedy, two 1st rounders, and a prospect (one of their several top defensive prospects) for Perry? Although this could unbalance the chemistry they already have with Kunitz |

This site is a blogging site. Don't come here for information. Next the Penguins are trading Crosby and Malkin to the Leafs for Kessel and some other bum on their team. Ek has no clue. |

Way, way, way too much for a pending UFA that you could lose.

As great as it would be, Perry is not coming to the Penguins. Shero isn't selling the farm for a rental who he will not be able to sign in the offseason. If Shero does trade for a winger, it will be for an under the radar, young guy with some potential, i.e. the James Neal or Chris Kunitz trade. If the Pens go after a rental, it will be for a vetrean guy. - cap1681
James Neal was not an under the radar guy and that was not an under the radar trade. At least not for people who watched Pacific Division hockey when he was with Dallas. I knew you guys fleeced Dallas the moment I read about it. And Christ Kunitz had basically capped in terms of development. Not really ripe with potential at the time of the trade. He was (and is) a great complimentary winger for a scoring line.
Perry would put the Pens over the top. Shero would make a move if there was one to be made. Rental or not, the team that has him in the playoffs is better than the ones that don't. Supposing Perry is moved, and Shero doesn't try to get Perry, it is likely one of the Pens rivals will
Still I think the Ducks keep him though, even if it means losing him for nothing. A long playoff run would mean a lot to this franchise and fan base. Probably more than a couple blue chip prospects or young players would. |

True, but what if they guarantee he'll resign? Either way if someone wants him, they'll have to overpay. Just one first rounder added would still be an overpayment actually oppose to to two |

Ottawa, like any team with cap space, should make an offer if he becomes a UFA. They need someone to replace Alfie, and they become a legit cup contender with a guy like Perry.
Doesn't hurt that Murray drafted him too
As a leafs fan, this is my worst nightmare... I guess we'll just have to wait and see - TheLeaves2012
If he does go, I think it will be to Ottawa. Ducks have been scouting the Sens a lot lately too, so maybe they are working on something. It's a big IF though. |
