so is despres scratched for tomorrow too? need to know for fantasy lol

I haven't ready anything other than that the defense rotated today at practice.

I think regardless, with Niskanen back, Despres is going to end up playing 10 minutes if he dresses.

I heard on the radio that there were no changes to lines or pairings at practice today.....fwiw. Letang and Despres looked great together, so so naturally he plays with Engo...

Maybe Shero is trying to give Bortuzzo his shot. If he is that stay at home defender similar to scuds then we need to see him in action. He's been on the baby pens and scratched so much that he could probably still develop a bit

I liked Cullen in his brief stint with the Sens ( If i remember correctly it was agaisnt pittsburgh too in the playoffs). He could add some good depth to your offense.

Don't get this at all ... he looked very good with Letang.

So, if Bylsma is protecting Despres against physical teams by sitting him and this is Pittsburgh's plan for him, wouldn't it be better to trade him to the West for a significant return? The West isn't as physical and sitting him makes no sense based on his skills and talent.

I don't get it either although Despres had a couple of skittish games when paired with Engo. I like Engo for what he is, but he was most of the problem IMO. It's hard for a rookie to cover for your 6th guy.

No video game cover for Sid?Really?

Would I be mean if I just posted that on the Flyers board, no curse, no ironic words or something detrimental to them?

Yeah the Ducks would be stupid to move Perry at this point. I would love to see the Pens get him as a UFA though. I'd take Perry over Ryan because Ryan is from Philly.
- sammy87

Ryan is under your control for longer. 2 more years before he becomes a free agent. Don't give a poop where he is from. He could help. That said, he isn't going anywhere.

It would be great if Bortuzzo turned out to be a bigger Scuderi, but we need to remember that it took Scuderi a few NHL seasons to develop. He was right along with Josef Melichar as far as the fan abuse he got in the mid 2000's.

Yeah but if I had my choice. I think ANA will resign Getz but Perry will walk.

One of my men's league linemates played at Boston College with Orpik and Scuderi. He always said he was extremely surprised that Scuderi even made the NHL, let alone be as good as he is. Said Scuderi improved a ton after going pro.

I think he was able to simplify his game and what he does do he does very well. Never flashy, always solid positionally. And he does not get rattled. He is big enough to get the job done and realizes his job is to protect the net. I was sorry to see him go.

I still like to watch him play. If he is on the 2010 USA team instead of Whitney we might be talking about an American Gold.

I remember early in his career, I don't think he ever made a breakout pass lol. Every time he got the puck, it was high glass and out of the zone. He must have put in a lot of work, and if the Pens organization had any depth, he would have never had a chance in Pittsburgh.

Interesting. Didn't even know Orpik played with Scuderi at the same time in Boston. Anyone seen the goal Cam Ward alowed tonight?Weakest ever

Watching this blues game there are a bunch of players I'd love to see in a pens uniform. Sobotka, Stewart, Steen, and of course Oshie

The blues are my #2 team. But I usually do splitscreen on GC but the blues are in NBCSN so gamecenter is lame and doesn't show it
