Problem with the Hawks they were out hit 2 to 1. Bickel and a few other third fourth liners need to be more physical other wise teams will continue to pound on our star players.
Hits:
Bicker 2 (16shifts)
Frolick 1 (19 shifts)
Shaw 0 (17 shifts)
Hjarmarsson 1 hit(26 shifts)
Kruger 0 (26 shifts)

Please tell me this is sarcasm? - Ogilthorpe2
The team controlling the puck is generally the "Hittee"
The team chasing the puck is generally the "Hitter"
30 hits for the nucks. 16 for the hawks. I would say the hawks controlled the puck for the most part. |

This video shows....
Hansen did not take a run at Hossa. he was right there. In fact, so close, I would doubt he knew the number on the players sweater as they were so close.
But besides all of that....
Bottom line....
Whether intensional or not....
Honestly guys.................. Keith on Sedin in now vindicated. - Beatle_john
Hanson will regret this next game when he is getting his azz handed to him by Bollig or Carcillo.... That is if the little puke will even drop his gloves. |

Bollig and or Carcillo won't be able to find Hanson hiding behind Henrietta or Daniella's skirt. |

I just hope Hossa is okay. No matter what any Canucks fan/Hansen wants to say about the play it was dirty, you don't swing your elbow into the back of a guys head trying to grab the puck out of the air. Dirty play that deserves a suspension, whether it was considered intentional or not it was reckless and dangerous. Pretty bad when Vigneault tries to say that it shouldn't have been a penalty? Seriously dude, admit when your player makes a stupid play whether it was an accident or not it shouldn't have happened. Nice clean hockey from the Vancouver Canucks per usual, dirtiest team in the league and their fans were showing their class on the boards here all night. |

Any of you insider people heard anything on how Hossa is feeling ? Ay least he was walking by himself to the locker room.
At least the Hawks won again but if Hossa is out gor a long time this will look like a totally different team. |

There is talk about Alfredsson and Iginla possibly being available. Wonder if it may not be a bad idea to pick one of them up as a rental for insurance purposes? |

Two gmes in a row where 3rd period pnealties hurt and 4 blasts get by Emery......disconcerting trend? - bogiedoc
First 2 periods the Hawks control the play, the 3rd Q brings out the 1-2-2 to try to conserve the lead and the Hawks play on their heals. This is why 3rd period leads go away. |

They also had the puck twice as much. You have the puck more you get hit more. Just sayin.

Ok, so if Hossa misses more time this year because of a concussion does his name enter the hat as a possible compliance buy out? I would love to see Hoss stay, but 2 concussions in less then a year (if that is what he has this time) with a $5.3 cap hit extended on for the next few years makes me concerned. Especially if he winds up retiring early and the Hawks get a cap penalty for it.
However, my biggest concern is not over the cap, it is over Hossa's health. Get better soon Marion! |

I believe since he was under 35 when he signed the contract there would be no cap penalty against the hawks if he retires but don't quote me on that. |

is it that the head was the point of contact? because without a "run" I do not see how the head is not poaint of 80% of plays what do not involve sticks. - Beatle_john

Agreed but even without Hossa the Hawks are a lot faster than the Sharks D men. Niemi is going to come out strong though... We'll see. |

Never happen first rulle of coaching ethics: my guy does it = a typical hockey play; your guy does it = worst evil perpetrated by mankind. Standard rhetoric across the league |

Not worth the effort. Watched the hit again on the ESPN website. Melorse called it a forearm shiver and expects disciplinary action from the league. Forearm shiver's hardly what I'd call a hockey play but I'm sure there are a lot of spin and redemption posts on Ian's blog this morning.
Hope Hoss is ok.
Pretty at times, ugly in the third but in the end, Hawks win!!!

Hearing at 3:30 today for Hansen, hopefully Shanahan throws the book at him for this. Absolutely not a "hockey play" and no room for sh!t like this in the sport. |

He won't drop 'em. Team culture. Look at how Bieksa goes after guys like Stalberg. Then last night a little jab at Sharp late in the game. Ever see him go after a tough guy? Never.
Just like Alexis and Kesler (see he's returned to the douche he was before the Olympics), Hanson is just following suit.
The best way to get back at them is a 7-1 beating on the scoreboard. But if there is a hit to be made, a clean, jaw shuttering hit that sends a guy flying, it should be made. Whether by Seabs, Bickell or Bollig. Just don't put your team at a huge disadvantage with something as egregious as a match penalty. |
