What are you talking about ? The Gun Ban was lifted from residential and business locations for valid foid holders. Robberies (The City's #1 felony) are a daily occurrence in all areas of the city and busses and trains. All out in public. When conceal carry goes into effect sometime around August 2013 the crime rate will drop. Let Joe Smoe defend himself on the street against Joe Sh it head. Joe Sh it head doesn't follow the law anyways .

Really? Turn on the news then where kids are getting shot on a daily basis and yeah it happened even in Schaumburg right down the street from my house. I know crime is everywhere but don't be so blind as the statistics are out there proving it...Chicago is becoming worse than Detroit whether you want to believe it or not.

Every city has problems - maybe Chicago more than most - but Chicago is a world - class city in so many ways and in so many areas of the city - one of the few world class cities in North America: NY, Chicago, Miami, New Orleans, LA, SF, Toronto, Montreal....

I'm against conceal carry but do you honestly think they will let that go into effect....no way!

I dont care to argue stats or the manipulation of stats since the second amendment is a god given right and not a right bestowed on the citizens by the government.

Ugh! The Schaumburg dude is back. I still live in Chicago and I love it. It has the same problems any major urban center has, but with a ton of perks. Yes, gun violence is a growing cancer that may be mitigated if concealed carry becomes a reality but I think that will never happen. I love this city. Schaumburg dude has some issues that really come to the fore on this site, but we mostly love him anyway.

Hoping for a strong showing from Kaner and Toews tonight. Leddy and Emery will be key.
