What you don't realize is the players discuss this stuff amongst themselves. Yes to a certain extent there is an outside influence but the players are just as in tune, or moreso, than the media and fans. Guaranteed this has been discussed in the Canucks dressing room, just like the Torres incident was discussed prior to the game by the Hawks. - paulr
Maybe so - but I think if it were a priorty, it would have happened in the last meeting when the Canucks were on home ice.
I wouldn't be so sure about that. Bieksa is a pretty tough fighter when he decides to fight but the trade off isn't worth as Bollig is a bum. I bet Juice would kick his azz anyway. - CanUSA17
Bieksa actually seems like a pretty funny guy, but he is a snake in the grass on the ice, and not a really good fighter...unless your back is turned. He's certainly not going to take on a guy who's main value is throwing down.

'Juice' had his hands full with that tomato can called Ben Eager, if Bieksa grows a pair and mans up to Bollig I'd be very surprised.
Q and Tippett are long time good buddies from their days in Hartford. I'd be shocked if Q didn't tell him beforehand "look Dave, we gotta do this and Mayers is gonna handle it, better put Raffi out on the ice early and get it over with". - RickJ
I was told by someone who'd know that is pretty much what happened.
Why would one of our best dmen, who plays a ton of minutes, fight Bollig? It would be like Seabrook fighting Volpatti. Terrible trade off. - nucks_94
Bieksa had an opportunity to have a great trade off in the 2010 playoffs and take Byfuglien off the ice but what does he do instead?? He makes fun of Byfuglien's bulk in interviews prior to games and during intermissions and then steered clear of the big man on the ice. And as big as Byfuglien is he can't throw em like Bollig.
Maybe. Or he might break his hand fighting a plug. Either way, it's stupid. - nucks_94
He could break his hand if he landed before he threw one wild punch and semi-turtled. You guys need to get over this idea that Bieksa is some kind of tough guy. Pretty goo dplayer, but as a fighter he is at best sort of adequate for his size but not remotely fearless.

"275 pounds of loose meat" which was sort of funny, but not so much for Canucks' fans at the time

Never said he was a tough guy, simply said fighting Bollig would be stupid.
Is it really Luongo in net over Schneider tonight? - AceRatbang
Last year in Chicago Schneider was given the start to protect at that point a fragile Louongo. No where to hide now.Big game for Lou,If he loses his fan base will turn on him quickly, after all that is what helped get Vancouver into this goalie contraversy to start with.

Problem is Lou is as loose as I have ever seen him. He doesn't care if he loses because he wants to be moved out of Vancouver anyway. A loose goalie or a loose team are the hardest to play against.

My info. said Luongo was "probable." That usually means that's their best guess, awaiting confirmation.

Fiddler did that great impersonation of "Juice" last year.
- prd797
I assume "Juice" is Bieska? I don't keep tabs on nicknames for overrated piles of crap. I did enjoy the Vancouver fans push for him to try and get the norris a few years back.

I have always respected him even when his fans didn't.That fan base has always blamed him for what was really a team character issue.
