Those guys aren't getting called up....they haven't "fully developed" them into losers yet.

Nino's a bust, Donovan's not ready for the NHL...has Staple actually watched Bridgeport or is he just basing all of this off of a conversation with Cpt?

I think people expect too much out of Donovan, like he'd unrealistically be some kind of savior in the NHL, which he won't...but I don't think he'd be lost in a limited NHL role at all. He's the only d-man on an awful, awful d-core to remain in plus territory, and if anything, his offense has picked up a bit compared to very early on in the season. And beyond the numbers, imo he just looks better out there.

I watched the first part of the game... then left.

It was 3--0 @ that point, and saw enough then.

Didn't watch any of the lowlights last night on TV.

Tonights games is on Sportsnet... I will watch it... but I have no issue changing over to NCIS, and NCIS LA @ anytime...

You should all check out the Islanders chat on Newsday today. While you won't like some of the answers provided by Arthur Staple, here are some highlights:

1. Since the Islanders aren't making money, they won't go out and bring new talent in.
2. Didn't say it but might think Nino is a bust. Staple thinks he is very immature. He thinks he could be trade bait for an up and coming defenseman in the summer.
3. If DP is bad tonight he could be sent down and one of the Bridgeport goalies will be brought up.
4. Same goes for Reasoner...waived if he is bad and Jon Persson will be brought up. Nino stays down...see #2...
5. Donovan not ready for the NHL..nor are any of the Bridgeport d-men.
6. The rumors about the Islanders being sold in the NY Post weren't accurate.
7. Possible fire sale if team is out of it at the trade deadline...

I'm expecting a 6-3 ottawa victory tonight. In fact, if it would force Snow to make a trade or fire cappy, I'd take another blow out loss. Or a few if it meant seeing some changes. Actual changes, not putting Reasoner with KO and Grabner.

that was very interesting comment on Jon Persson. Its funny b/c i was on the soundtigers site and first thing i noticed is how Persson is catching up to Nino in goals and had 10 games less played then him.

The Swedes - Ullstrom, Persson and Sundstrom are the guys with the + ratings.

Still understand how cappy thinks ullstrom still has alot to learn when he has outplayed KO, Aucoin, Boyes.

Another thing is I dont think Isles give MATT MARTIN enough credit. He is way more gifted of a offensive player than this staff thinks.

You want to shuffle the lines. Put Martin or Ullstrom in that top RW spot for few games.

- Spartiarti

Wow, I agree with this statement. He is much better than we've seen. Hopefully we can find out how much? As far as the Islanders not giving him credit they don't seems to reward players like Martin? I have no idea why but they don't?

I'm not sure Snow will be forced to do anything accept for keeping the payroll low. I doubt Wang is putting any sort of pressure on Snow.

Has anyone else here lost interest in what AUCOIN brings to this team.

After amzing start he is completely invisible. his Winning % in faceoff has fallen 55%.
Bailey and Ullstrom, have higher % even but have take far less.

I think it would be great if Bailey can Establish himself as the #2 Center again.

He's a career AHLer. What surprised me was he actually looked good for aweek-10days.

Truthfully I think his adrenalin was pumping sky high, which led to his impressive start.

Now? I think He'll either be waived or traded before the end of the season. Most likely waived,

He looked like a player and then it was gone like that. Aucoin is like many on this team they get comfortable and stop working.

We are going to take a ton more losses whether we like it or not. This season is done, management gave up before it started. Once again Snow doesn't "have to spend" like some declare constantly on here nor will he next season. Filling the roster spots up like he did with the shat he found was a clear indication of that. He may fire Cappy but he'll just install Weight. Yipee, another guy with zero experience coaching. I hear you, as a fan you want to see some kind of change but we are talking about Wang/Snow. Whatever change we do see will have little to no effect on this team or its success.

Alot of it has to do with the team itself. I've been saying it for some time now. When you have a losing mentality it wears on a players persona. There are the few that don't get affected by this. The playrs like Tavares but for the most part losers breed losers and thats what we are seeing. Does anyone really think this team seriously wants to win or rather that management wants to win? Really think about that. Did you see BVoyes on the 5 on 3 the other night? The guy did not give a (frank) after single handidly destroying that 2 min 5 on 3. Not a care in the world. Didn't even put his head down. Nielsen laughing it up the other night. Mailing it in the way they did last game. Coming out like they did against the Rangers. They don't care about winning, it's that simple.

I'm not defending yesterday but its funny to read what some of you write after we win and then what some of you write after we lose. Bi-polar would be a complement.
