- Arctic_AARDVARK

If youre an angler you really should get to Great Slave or Great Bear and fish for lake trout.

Thats cool.. Ive fished it a few times but spent most of the times pulling weeds out of the propellers

I did most of my fishing on the Ottawa river and Lake Nipissing when i was young. But then i discoverd brookie fishing in algonquin and quetico and im hooked. Also Muskie fishing on the Chalk river was some of the best action ive ever had with a rod in my hand

- Arctic_AARDVARK

Lots of lakes and ponds, and I wasn't kidding about all the places we visited during that summer, right to Opasquia Provincial Park and Polar Bear Provincial park, lol.

Yep, Walleye is my favourite fishing. Especially if you're eating it.
- Dirte

walleye is best eater but not exactly a fight of a lifetime..

light action rod catching 5-6 pound bass is a great fight...

best fights...river fishing...float rod.

i have a kingpin rod with a Okuma reel, bout 700 bucks for them both, unreal combo...nothign beats the river at dusk and dawn when nobody is around but yourself slaying trout after trout...hell i pulled out a 9 pound walleye on my float rod in the Grand River, blew my damned mind!

I was north of Nipigon. Portaged into some lakes. Unbelievable fishing. As in, pull out 10 or 15 fish in a couple of hours. And good sized one too. My father pulled out a 17 pound pike. He thought he snagged on a log for a while, then it started moving.

I can't remember the name of the lakes. Lake Elizabeth was one of them.

Hey, I didn't mean to disrespect you. Hater means someone who hates. You hate Toronto, so the noun would be hater. where is the insult in that?

Besides, people here joke around all the franking time and I got insulted in many ways shapes and forms. I never take anything too seriously. I come on here for entertainment value and a good chat.

i hammer it every year up there, had the biggest musky ive EVER seen come right up to the boat chasing a lure, i did the figure 8 a few times and it just SAT there waiting...i wanted to jump out of the boat and tackle the bastard, but id have failed lol

i caught 109 fish up there on a saturday, like 80 perch, a handful of bass and walleye and a couple pike...some good fishing for sure.

ive had trips there where our boat caught 400 + fish in a day. just gotta know what to use, what colors, what depth, and of course, have a whole bunch of nicely rolled L papes to hull on

- big_dion

Damn straight... One trip me and my buddy hooked 35 pickerel before about 1pm. (On the lake at 6am) the beauty was, all within or bigger than slot. My buddy also pulled a 48" muskie outta Rice. Took an hour and a half to get it released...

they are playing a solid team game. everyone is committed to the jobs carlyle has given them (it seems to me anyways)

and surprise surprise, they're winning

back to back shutouts for scrivens too

seems like leafs farm hand goalies who take their ahl team to the AHL finals seems to do well in the NHL the following year..

who saw that coming?

- Dozzer

We have to play a solid physical game tonight. Most of Tampas games are high scoring affairs. As long as we play with the same fire we've been showing the past few games we should be okay.

If you want to fish Great Bear...or Slave for that matter, summer is pretty much the only time and the summer is short. Lots of charters and bushlodges available. I went with some natives from the Hayriver reserve that knew the best places to go. Just make sure to bring heavy fishing gear. Lake trout get massive.

Have you gone to Bryden's Pub?
- LeafMan

I know you weren't asking me, however, I have been.
I prefer the Ivy over it.

Although I dont frequent either that often.

I recently went to Rad Brothers with me lady to watch the leafs destroy the Canadiens.
Atmosphere is meh....but the wings are good.

Just messing with you man. I love Canada, all of it, bad, good, cold, humid, french, English, rednecks, blue collar, white collar, newfie or oldfie! It's all good.

I left North Africa in 1999, finished my studies in Califonia, moved to Romania in East Europe for a job and then, been following career opportunities ever since. I lived in so many countries (England, Turkey, Italy, France, Bulgary, Algeria, Morrocco, Spain, Lybia, Egypt, etc...) before I landed in Montreal January 23rd, 2005, then 2 weeks after moved to Toronto.

I have seen half of the world and mingled with every culture there is and adapted to different languages, systems, religions, etc...trust me when I say, WE HAVE IT GOOOOOOOOOOD here in Canada!

I got ya on the weeds, where I go out of tho, the last few years weeds have not been a factor. Matter of fact, where the weeds did not grow in opened up a whole new pickerel/muskie experience on the lake...

Where's Chalk river?

- PTVinnyMac

well its been awhile since ive been there..

Chalk river flows into the Ottawa and goes thru the town of chalk river.. Its just a small river with a chain of small lakes.. They used to be polluted with muskie.. Like 5-10 a day easy. Largies over 5 lbs and plenty of them. Ive seen musky in those lakes (second james lake) that were pushing 50lbs and its a very small lake. Some idiot fishing camp in Deep river has been bringing americans in there those and now you'll just catch tons of hammer handle pike. Still some big ski lurking around tho.

What worries me about a team like Tampa Bay is players like Stamkos, MSL and Lecavalier that can single handedly win a hockey game with so much talent. Flordia, for example, in my opinion lacks that kind of players and need a team effort to win. Tampa Bay has superstar players that can take a game away from you. Those are the teams that will test the Leafs the most.
