Ok I agree with you here. Edmonton sucks
- hooligoon

Yeah, have to agree, I can't say I'm too fond of Edmonton. That and Winnipeg are my two least desireable places.

In your eyes. Ive met well travelled and educated people that genuinely love Edmonton and swear up and down it is the best city anywhere. Does their opinion make them wrong because they esteem different things higher than you.

Just accept a difference of opinion and move on.

Get over it already.

Toronto has all that within distance too. I live in Milton and still prefer that to Ottawa.

There is no good reason to hate anywhere just because your preferences differ. That said, living in a place with more choices and options is hardly going to be inferior to a place with far less to offer.

Dont feel very Canadian being where? Toronto? Really? Let me guess, the diverse cultural surroundings too difficult to stomach? Awesome. Good to meet you Don Cherry on haterade.

Why did you comment on my statement at all then? I mentioned nothing of either place. Youre the one who brought it up.
- sanfordnson

Okay clearly you're now looking for an argument. You mentioned Edmontons lack of diversity is a laughable myth. I added but it is nothing like Vancouver or Toronto. I assumed that you guys were arguing about diversity relative to 'experiential living' - pertaining to Canadian cities - and thought that while you may have diversity in Edmonton, it's worth mentioning that it pales in comparison to the aforementioned cities. So if that was the argument being used to legitimate one city being better than another - it wasn't a good argument.

This is of course all an assumption, which I was wrong about. Which is why I gave that lame apology.

If fishing is what you're into, my best experiences have been up north of Lake Nipigon. It's a hike though.

Dude.... The pickerel, the Muskie, the Bass... The last 3 smallies I pulled out of that lake were all over 5 lbs. The biggest was six and a half to seven. It was 26" long. That's a beat. People say that lake is over fished, no shot... The fishing is phenomenal there.
- PTVinnyMac

Thats cool.. Ive fished it a few times but spent most of the times pulling weeds out of the propellers

I did most of my fishing on the Ottawa river and Lake Nipissing when i was young. But then i discoverd brookie fishing in algonquin and quetico and im hooked. Also Muskie fishing on the Chalk river was some of the best action ive ever had with a rod in my hand

no i totally didn't read it past the haters part. why would i? You lost my respect when you tried to insult me
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Hey, I didn't mean to disrespect you. Hater means someone who hates. You hate Toronto, so the noun would be hater. where is the insult in that?

Besides, people here joke around all the franking time and I got insulted in many ways shapes and forms. I never take anything too seriously. I come on here for entertainment value and a good chat.

Yes, Ottawa is nice town....and beautiful surrounding area, no doubt.
Gatineau park is nice.
But city doesn't compare.

The hate Toronto because they are jealous.
I love it when losers hate Toronto for no other reason than.......oh I hate Toronto.

i hammer it every year up there, had the biggest musky ive EVER seen come right up to the boat chasing a lure, i did the figure 8 a few times and it just SAT there waiting...i wanted to jump out of the boat and tackle the bastard, but id have failed lol

i caught 109 fish up there on a saturday, like 80 perch, a handful of bass and walleye and a couple pike...some good fishing for sure.

ive had trips there where our boat caught 400 + fish in a day. just gotta know what to use, what colors, what depth, and of course, have a whole bunch of nicely rolled L papes to hull on

nice im glad to hear - sounds like it went well and things are gaining momentum! like the leafers!!!!!!!
- big_dion

they are playing a solid team game. everyone is committed to the jobs carlyle has given them (it seems to me anyways)

and surprise surprise, they're winning

back to back shutouts for scrivens too

seems like leafs farm hand goalies who take their ahl team to the AHL finals seems to do well in the NHL the following year..

who saw that coming?

I got ya on the weeds, where I go out of tho, the last few years weeds have not been a factor. Matter of fact, where the weeds did not grow in opened up a whole new pickerel/muskie experience on the lake...

Where's Chalk river?

Best fishing I've had in Canada. I go up there almost every summer to Kenora for a week. Last summer we pulled up close to 80 walleye and bass in 2 hours. Within the first hour we caught our max for slot size for 4 people. After that we had to toss 6 of the 8 back because we caught bigger.

Lake of the Woods is where its at for Canadian fishing.
