It offers a shelter and haven from haters like you who lived half an hour in this city and yet thinks he could wrongfully judge it based on certain preconceived likes and dislikes since childhood.
You sound like the outdoor kind of guy and I am like that as well, but I am too greedy to miss out on what this city offers besides fishing, trekking, mountain biking, canoeing.
What TO has more so than anywhere else, is accessibility!
By that I mean, if you want diversity, international cuisines, plethora of art and artists, movie festivals, skiing resorts, finest hotels, a baseball team & a basket ball team, fishing, lodging, hunting, camping, nature, etc
I mean, there is nothing you don't have access to, therefore it makes it a better place than anywhere else. - hooligoon

In your eyes. Ive met well travelled and educated people that genuinely love Edmonton and swear up and down it is the best city anywhere. Does their opinion make them wrong because they esteem different things higher than you.

I don't think he cares about what Toronto has to offer, because what Toronto has to offer attracts a lot of people, and he doesn't like that. That's his choice.

LOL... I guess i was spoiled with lots of great fishing experiences, but the Kawarthas? A few muskie and bass still lurking around in those weedy lakes? - Arctic_AARDVARK
Dude.... The pickerel, the Muskie, the Bass... The last 3 smallies I pulled out of that lake were all over 5 lbs. The biggest was six and a half to seven. It was 26" long. That's a beat. People say that lake is over fished, no shot... The fishing is phenomenal there.

Ive been there once, in the afternoon. It was dead when I went and never went back. I should hit it again if it's good?
I got to Champs (a new sports bar/bowling alley), Ned Devines and Rad Brothers (new also). - systemtool
I know the owner, I also have done work for some of the places there, many have went out of business, tough economical times hit the core of the city, let me see if I remember, Matt's Rib House, Chaser's, The Olde D ickens, The Post Office and Grill, Ivy Arms (I think)and quite a few more that I can't recall now, lol.

Just accept a difference of opinion and move on. - sanfordnson
Okeeee he's elite! the elitest of the elite. Let's just forget the inconsistencies of his production. If he ever scores 50 ill change my mind.. That's the elite threshold IMO - Arctic_AARDVARK
50 goals makes an elite players in the NHL?
so only Stamkos/Ovie/Hedjuk/Kovalchuk/Perry/Malkin/HEATLEY LOL/CHEECHOO LOL/Iginla/Crosby
that's all the NHL has in your elite category over the last 10 years??
I think your a little hard on Kessel you are right he's not the toughest in the corners etc but he does have probably the best release in hockey and he does score a pile of goals on teams that totally suck!!!!

If fishing is what you're into, my best experiences have been up north of Lake Nipigon. It's a hike though.

Are you familiar with the Ottawa Valley? Its a great place to live. The area arond Ottawa has far more to offer. Mt Tremblant 2 hours away, Algonquin park less than 2 hours away, Gatineau park, Calypso. Theres always something happening in Ottawa. Most people hate Toronto and for good reason. I don't mind going there every now and then but it definitely doesn't make you feel very Canadian being there. - Arctic_AARDVARK
Yes, Ottawa is nice town....and beautiful surrounding area, no doubt.
Gatineau park is nice.
But city doesn't compare.
The hate Toronto because they are jealous.
I love it when losers hate Toronto for no other reason than.......oh I hate Toronto.
Can we talk about the game tonight or is everybody keen on female doging about where you can get the best Canadian living experience. - A_Tree
3rd Shutout is the answers to all your questions Tree. There isn't much to talk about tonight's game, hence the mute debate about what's the best city or place to live in Canada. lol

You seem to have anger issues dude, I have noticed you get angry very quickly here. We are all different have different views on places, I'm also very weary when people say they have been all over this country.
But I will leave you with this, I have not been all over this country, I have been to Newfoundland and Labrador, been to Halifax, been to several places in Quebec (I actually own property there), been just about every where you can possibly go in Ontario, travelled a whole summer from one end of the province to the other with friends, people don't realize the beauty of Ontario. Been to Vancouver and to Banff. Every where I went I met extremely kind people and in every place met rude people, they live in every city and town in this country, it is not exclusive to one place. - LeafMan
It helps to have variety... I took forestry so im a bit of a tree buff. I miss the maples and oaks out here - Arctic_AARDVARK
The mountians in southern Mexico are something. Nothing but cacti even on the tops. So colorful. Really beautiful actually. Dont recommend the 8 hour bus trip from Mexico City to Oaxaca though. Even on a 1st class bus (which in Mex are Mercedes buses that make Red Arrow look average) the 3 hours of mountain switchbacks are stomach turning and scary at times.
