No he probably just doesnt like cities. I grew up on a farm 30 minutes away from the nearest town of 5000 people, and in a city of 90000 people I still cant get used to the noise.
- sanfordnson

Cant blame people for that. The city isn't for everyone. I like a good mix, and I found it in Milton.

Im two hours from Calgary and i don't like it at all.. But thats just my opinion. Im not a city guy but i do travel to them often and have lived in a lot of Canadian cities for short periods. I guess i just have a different perspective on what our Canadian culture is. I've been to every Province, Territory, and city west of Quebec city. Ive been chewed alive by black flies (nearly every may) more times than i can count. I've paddled countless canoe routes in Ontario and fished hundreds of backland lakes. I howl at the wolves (and believe me it will send a shiver up your spine when your all alone in the boreal forest. I grew up playing hockey on the frozen ponds, lakes, rivers, driveways in -45 temp. I've hiked all of Banff and Jasper and i know every Gordon Lightfoot, Stompin' Tom, Tragiacally Hip, Neil Young song there is to know. IM SORRY IF I DON'T GIVE A (frank) ABOUT WHAT TORONTO SUPPOSEDLY HAS TO OFFER.

and the people in toronto probably dont much care for your lifestyle choices

thats the nice thing about canada.. it embraces different lifestyles and cultural approaches. no one type of life is anymore canadian than the next.

however.. being openly critical of those who choose a different lifestyle than your own is decidedly un-canadian.

your condescending nature in regards to your post is beneath you.

Yes, I've spent quite a bit of time in those places as well. We certainly have a different definition of busy. In comparison to other cottage regions, it's quite quiet.

I grew up in the Kawarthas in a village of 1500 that was well over 5000 in the summer due to the Trent Severn

I feel Canadian whether Im here, Mexico, Europe or South America. Strange idea.

Why would you stand out in Alberta? Our lack of diversity is a laughable myth.

- sanfordnson

Maybe, but it's nothing like Vancouver or Toronto.

I loved Calgary too. I would live there for sure. Kelowna is another one of my favourites. But we should really travel more and blah blah blah.
- systemtool

Agree with you whole heartily.
Travelled for work from EDM-CGY- Kelowna - Van & Victoria..
By far Calgary & Victoria are just downright gorgeous & nice people.
But I probably wouldn't move from the GTA.

You seem to have anger issues dude, I have noticed you get angry very quickly here. We are all different have different views on places, I'm also very weary when people say they have been all over this country.

But I will leave you with this, I have not been all over this country, I have been to Newfoundland and Labrador, been to Halifax, been to several places in Quebec (I actually own property there), been just about every where you can possibly go in Ontario, travelled a whole summer from one end of the province to the other with friends, people don't realize the beauty of Ontario. Been to Vancouver and to Banff. Every where I went I met extremely kind people and in every place met rude people, they live in every city and town in this country, it is not exclusive to one place.

You know what Toronto offers?

It offers a shelter and haven from haters like you who lived half an hour in this city and yet thinks he could wrongfully judge it based on certain preconceived likes and dislikes since childhood.

You sound like the outdoor kind of guy and I am like that as well, but I am too greedy to miss out on what this city offers besides fishing, trekking, mountain biking, canoeing.

What TO has more so than anywhere else, is accessibility!

By that I mean, if you want diversity, international cuisines, plethora of art and artists, movie festivals, skiing resorts, finest hotels, a baseball team & a basket ball team, fishing, lodging, hunting, camping, nature, etc

I mean, there is nothing you don't have access to, therefore it makes it a better place than anywhere else.

As i said, i don't like living in cities. I live in Ottawa for 4 years and never once met a person who prefered Toronto. I was more talking about the Ottawa Valley... Renfrew, Eaganville, Pembroke, Petawawa, Deep River. Im not angry at all, of course everyone has their opinions about Canada and where they like to be. I grew up in Muskoka and Callander (mom and dad split) and I don't like either that much but i had some great memories in Callander. Lake Nipissing is an awesome lake.
- Arctic_AARDVARK

Ah yes, I spent a few weeks in Pembroke once. Nice place, but again, far too quiet for me.

This just seems to be your preference. Quiet, remote. Some people prefer the liveliness of a city, and that doesn't seem to be your preference.

Doesn't mean my point is any less legitimate. Of course Vancouver and TO have more diversity. They contain the population of our entire province.

Predictions for the game tonight?

I can only hope we can keep the win streak going. Tampa is a tough team, much better defensively than Florida - definitely - and can make any team pay with a errant pass.
