They grow in bellies... just like the rest of us.. Kessel is good but he aint no Sundin - Arctic_AARDVARK
Stop comparing Kessel to a player that he isn't. Sundin was a big stud 1C. Kessel is a very fast sniper. Too different talents. |

I will go and say it now. If Dion keeps playing like he has the past couple of weeks, He will make the post season all star team. - faceto27
To rehash an old debate, I don't think you could find 15-20 defensemen better than Phaneuf right now.
Anyone doubting whether this guy is a legit #1 needs to give his head a shake. As for making his partner look better? The guy has spent 100% of the year with AHL call-ups. |

The comparisons are only in the most basic form, and there is something similar in the most basic form. After that though, Kessel is about 10x the player. |

Nah, I know you're being sarcastic, I made my observation known about the players, btw, at the time not one person agreed with me about Frattin. - LeafMan
Actually I wasn't. You've made some pretty good analsis of young players. Its one thing to see a player doing well in junior/college. Its another being able to see if that player can transform that talent level to the NHL. |

2 very different players indeed. Sundin a game changer. Kessel ,meh ill show up when i want to and i look like one of those little lego men out there. Sure he has a hell of a shot but thats pretty much it. He's a top line player but he isn't "elite" |

If there's one thing we're missing on the back-end, it's not a #1, it's a legit #2.
We need a Suter type. |

no we don't. (frank) Suter. Our D is good and will be dangerous next year. Look at what Jersey did last year in the playoffs with a bunch of no names other than volchenkov |

There are still outposts of courtesy and random acts of kindness. Sadly, the 'me first' mentality has been pushed so hard on us that most have trouble walking 20 feet to knock on a door and greet a new neighbour.
George Carlin did a fantastic rant on the state of modern society once. Dont have the vid handy but it's brilliant. I miss his work. |

Then thanks, lol. The next one to watch like I said is Leivo, he has got size, offensive ability, not scared to go into corners or bang, crash and go the net and he has some leadership abilities. I look for players that will surprise and he is one to watch. I may be wrong but I think he has what it takes to make it to the NHL. |

Ben Scrivens in the visitors net for optional skate in Tampa. No surprise, but he appears the starter tonight against Lightning. |

Sam ole poope. Work! LOL
Ya, not too shabby right now huh? I'm amazed at Carlyle's influence, although I figure they've caught on well, because they're a young team? When they're playing strong, it's night and day from their defensive coverage last year... |

JVR for Schenn was a steal....I went to 5 games last year all in the platinums (didnt pay )....got to see Puke Schenn up close enough times to realize he was a total bust.

I don't give a poop what position he plays. You're just breaking it down into categories. Ohh he's elite in the category of right-wingers with a right hand shot on an original six team in the past 10 years |
