in fairness to Wilson, he never got the kind of goaltending the Leafs are getting right now (on a consistent basis at least). and you can point to defence but the Leafs are giving up shots and opportunities.
- scotch_tape

Fairness to Wilson?? LOL

He employed a system that focused soely on Offense. His "system" constantly put the defensemen out of position. His "system" offten lead to odd man rushes against.
His "system" lacked defensive responsability.

The solid goaltending is a result of the defenders being in the right spots, forcing shots from the out side, and being in position to clear rebounds effectively. Let the opposition have 40 shots a game if they are mostly from the perimeter

Think Wheeler on TSN1050 said last night that Scrivens would be getting the start tonight.. guess the question must've been asked of Carlyle...

At this rate he will be starting Game 1 in Sochi

I play proline too. More for poops and giggles than actual wagering. I hate those online sites, I just dont trust that poop, plus I prefer dropping my $ over poker or blackjack at the casino anyways.

@jonasTSN1050: Leaf goaltending now ranks eighth overall a third of the way through: 2.24 GAA, .930 SV%.

Part of that was Burke though. He said that he wanted to employ a high tempo, run and gun style offense so that's what Wilson did, despite the fact that they didn't have the capability to do it. Burke realized his mistake too late and made the change to Carlyle who has a much more logical approach, apprasing what he has on the roster and doing things based on that.

That being said Wilson was terrible. He benched guys for the smallest things and let guys who he had bromances with (i.e. Mitchell, Komi, Beauch, etc.) play even though they were making more and bigger mistakes. He threw his own players under the bus all the time and never accepted any responsiblity for how bad the team was. He had no concept of how to manage young players (i.e. Schenn, Kadri). Made stupid decisions all the time with who he put on the ice (i.e. starting OT with Mitchell and Komi). They even brought up on the broadcast last night that the Leafs have been much better at getting their sticks in passing/shooting lanes (something I think we've probably all noticed) and said that Wilson had that weird "both hands on your stick" approach to defence which really didn't make any sense. Add in that he was an arrogant dbag and you get a real winning combination.

There's a reason he's not employed in the NHL right now and, honestly, I'd be surprised if he coaches another game in his career. Easily the worst coach the Leafs have had in my life time, maybe of all time.

Better odds.
More betting options.
Can bet on INDIVIDUAL games and not forced to bet on crap.
More convenient.
Can bet on games that are in-play WHILE WATCHING the actual game.

You may as well just cut proline a cheque, but hey, it's your money.

not at all, you guys have 0 players on forward who are impact.

patches? his 1 goal came from the red line.

pleks' turtleneck weighs him down and realistically you guys have the grit of a light grade sandpaper.

tough teams ahead, prepare for the crumble, only 25th thing you will get this year is a place.

gionta is a goof of a captain - and prust is scared of anyone his size.

habs goona crash n burn like leafs did last year. mark my words!

Its really hard to say. All of the next 6 games will be against teams that the Leafs will be directly battling with for the 5-8 playoff spots. There really aren't any games you can throw Rynnas in and take your chances. I think it's early enough in the season to let Scrivens run with it for a few more games...and will hopefully bring us to when Reimer is ready to return.
- p_zub

True, and thinking back on it, coming from the AHL, Scrivens should still be used to playing back to back games. Tonights game should be a good one without a doubt, you got the league leading goal scorers, you got the leafs who have been hot on the road. The key for toronto will be a quick start and staying disciplined.
