He's a Maple Leaf fan, you have to take anything Leafs' fans say with a grain of salt......they are an angry bunch.

What do OV, Crosby, and Giroux all have in common: they don't play for Toronto and never will....

We don't need a third line center. We already have one.

3rd in the race for the President's Trophy is a little early to celebrate. There is yet to even be a race this early in the season.

The Pens, who have played 16 games to date, are sitting not so comfortably in the top spot in the East. Why are they not so confortable? Because they have 5 losses to their resume and played more games than the teams behind them. The NY Rangers, currently sitting in the 8th spot, also have 5 losses this season (but they've only played 14 games).

Easy there Pen fans. Don't lose control. It's a short season, but there's a lot more hockey to go. Let's start the race after we here the gun.

No one here is celebrating, but its better to be in first at the 1/3 mark than to be one of the teams chasing.

No offense, but why don't you just worry about the Leafs making the playoffs for a change than coming here and lecturing what pens fans should feel.

They are working out a 3 way trade that brings all of them to Toronto for Kadri, Kulemin, and Tie Domi's used jock strap....

Don't forget one of Brian Burke's sloppy ties for Shero. Gotta have that to seal the deal.

They have one of those lying around still right?

He's right and that would be a terrific pick up for this team.
- canadianpenfan

I agree. He has the physical edge cause he can play down low a bit, plus a veteran presence. I probably would prefer Clutterbuck because he has so much more hitting in his game, but I don't have any illusions about that happening. Minnesota would riot like Vancouver if he was traded.

I read a story on SI.com, said Andrew Ladd might be available from the Jets....THoughts on him over Wheeler?

Yes please...

Not sure what it would take, and I would have to think about how his $4+ mil cap hit for the next few seasons, but as a player, I'd take him and his 2 Cup rings in a heartbeat.

I'm in the middle. I think at this point in his career, he's basically a more experienced Joe Vitale. But he has played some wing, and I would be find with him taking TK's spot on the 3rd line wing.

He's a good player to have on your team, and if he's just going to cost a mid-late round pick, I'm all for it. Would provide nice depth for a playoff run.

Where do I sign up? I like Wheeler a lot. Especially some of things he does despite his size. However, Ladd is a more gifted offensive player. Is there a link to this or a specific article?

100% with you. We also have a few extra picks in the later rounds thanks to the Lovejoy, Tangradi and Sneep trades.

Looked it over. Seems it's more of a question about whether the Jets will be sellers and it names Kane, Ladd and Big Buff. The write up makes the assumption that the Jets might tank it if they don't make some improvements. Not so sure. If Ladd were available, or even Wheeler, I would hope to hear that Shero called about them.

What was Guerin? Like a 6th, then went down to a 4th with the Cup win? Something like that would be fine by me, but I wouldn't give up a player with any shot of ever making the Pens.

I love Ladd really wanted us to acquire him from Chicago when they were dismantling their team. Sign me up for him.

Matt Cullen is an awesome pickup, tons of xp, and he is great on the pp for puck movement. For a fourth or 5th rounder or later pick I would do it. Depres for Ladd I don't know.... I would initially say no

It was a 4th that turned into a 3rd. Still though, considering what he amounted to for that team. Unbelievable. Factor in the year before, trading away very important picks and coming up empty. It was a risky career move, but it worked out.

Yeah, but basically a "rumor" because a columnist brought up tanking for the top draft pick. Not really anything there of value. Every year, you have writers in a dozen cities talking about tanking for the first pick.

I am a big Despres fan I wouldn't trade him for Ladd. I'd prefer to hold on to him even though I would like to see Ladd here.
