I was there and this is exactly what happened... some basic common sense hockey and Miller is right and justified in what her said. Vanek said the same thing a couple weeks ago.
- JoeSabre

We agree. Finally.

This never happens....

I disagree. A.O is ruining that team. With his cap hit alone they are pretty much stuck with him anyway. Miller would be a good starting point considering Holtby and Neuvirth have taken turns looking bad this year. It was a joke proposal anyways based on what someone posted they would target.
- sbroads24

i didn't actually think you were being serious with your proposal.

that being said, you know that ovechkin isn't being traded on what he is right now, but rather what he was. doesn't matter what his cap hit is, doesn't matter what his lockerroom presence is......the ONLY THING that matters if the caps move ovechkin is that it's OVECHKIN. it would be the biggest franchise altering trade in the history of that organization (and probably one of the bigger ones in league history, atleast in the last 20-25 years)....so you can bet your ass that the caps will ask for the moon in return for him. and i don't think they would consider a 32 year old goalie, who's likely past the prime of his career (or atleast gettint close to the end of it), as a fair starting point.

torn achilles tendon, out for the rest of this season. probably ready for training camp, but realistically, probably take 8 months or so to be back to 100%.

it wasn't a complete tear, so he should be fine

It would prolly take Miller, Pominville, 2nd and Stafford.
- Smittyx36

I honestly don't think it would cost you that much, they would prob be happy to get that money off the books.

There's no market for goalies and hasn't been for a few years.
- Putzfrau

There's several teams who are missing a #1 goalie. Problem is demands are too high and teams arent willing to give up their prospects and/or 1st round picks.

Actually, it's a sliced achilles. Which is better than a torn achilles. It's an easier healing process actually.

COME ON MAN!!!

you realize that you're talking about a player, who in the last 5 years, has won the hart trophy twice, the rocket richard trophy twice, the lester b pearson trophy 3 times, and the art ross.

the guy is only 27, it's not like his career is over.

if you honestly believe that he can be had for stafford and miller (not even considering the fact that you think the caps would throw in more assets), then i need whatever you're smoking, snorting, and injecting (all at the same time)
