Yeah, I'm tired of putting band aids on a sinking ship. Can the coach, set Ryan Miller free to see what he can do elsewhere. Rebuild.
- Buffalo--Sabres

Really, they should go to Miller, Vanek and Pommer and ask if they want to stick around for a rebuild or if they'd rather be moved somewhere else. At least give them the option.

I'm not a big fan of the argument that of Miller isn't here, who is gonna play net.

The easy answer is a) someone else.

If miller was traded, I would hope the r&r braintrust would either sign some goalie or get one back in the trade.

I love Miller and support him here. I even have an official sweater.

But, that's not to say that we couldn't get another goalie, capable or not.

We can't know what the braintrust is thinking.

Maybe the objective would be to tank, then in that case, have Enroth play the rest of the season.

No one on the team is untouchable, even the captain. I have posted in the past, if they don't want Pommer as captain any more, then he will have to be traded.

I would love up see him play on a real team and see how high he can fly.

If they traded Miller an announced the Enroth would play the rest of the season, the ticket holders would be so pissed. I know its "tanking" for the future, but I have to tell you, I would have ZERO interest. Words cant describe how uninterested buffalo fans would become. It would be a PR nightmare. It might take them a decade to recover from.

Stop reading. In all seriousness of course Miller could be replaceable that's not the argument, the issue is he good enough to win with? Yes he is IMO. The team in front of him needs fixing before the goal tender does. Give Miller 18-25 shots a game instead of 30-39 and see what a difference it makes.

Agreed. But we have to agree that they would get someone to play net. Might not be an all world goalie, as Charlie sheen sees him, but there are options out there.

Plus, the owner has already shown that he doesn't care what we think. R&R are his guys, come hell or high water.

Yes, there needs to be a warm body.

Its the most bizarre of situations. The guy who claims to love us the most, punishes us with this crap. Obviously they've decided no matter how bad it gets nothing will happen this year. Which really means till at least early 2014. Only time will tell but I cant wait to find out what is going in inside Terry's brain.

Thought I would throw this out here.

I watched the NBC feed yesterday. Pretty comical when the play by play guy and the color guy were basically saying to the casual fans watching that we should all wait and see what Vanek will do with the puck on the power play, and really building it up

Lol. After a while they were instead wondering why the puck wasn't going to Vanek, the NHL leader on points on the power play.

I guess they haven't been watching too many Sabres games this miserable season.

I almost think that T Pegs is trying to get Ruff a cup to make up for 99. But this sad experiment can't go on forever.

They don't need a rebuild. They need a new coach or no matter who you replace the result will be the same. Look at what he did to Myers. Just replace a few players, like Leo with McNabb and Corey Tropp replaces Hecht. Find a spot for Flynn.

I don't know if anyone else posted this, but I found this electronic song online featuring Rick Jeanneret. Song isn't very good but if you listen from 0:35 - 1:20 I guarantee you will all laugh your balls off.

They need better defense. They may be putting up good offensive numbers, but that doesn't help when you give up as many shots per game as their giving up.

Miller gave up 4 goals yesterday. Not one of which was his fault or did he have any chance on.

A good offense starts with a good defense. D being able to make plays in their own end and quickly get the puck up ice is key. Right now we don't seem to have that consistently. Why that is remains to be the question.

I've noticed on several occasions where the D-man gets the puck and the forwards instantly take off out of the zone to center ice and past, leaving the D to make very difficult/impossible passes, which leads to the turnovers we have seen time and time again.

I dont know if that is system based, or just the forwards playing dumb hockey.

I agree, he is trying to buy Ruff a cup for past failures. That, in of itself is a failure.

Anyone that blames Miller for our problems needs to buy some glasses. I don't even see moving him as a good idea because if we did we would have to get a reliable starter back since we have no backup. I don't see us getting a reliable starter that is on Miller's level back from any team.

Trade? Hell yeah. Even some real pieces. Only players I would not trade are Vanek, Miller, Myers (he will get better), Ott, Ehrhoff. Ennis/Hodgson would be tough, we would have to get a center back. Pommer we would have to get an excellent, proven player.

Fire Lindy? I don't know. Does he deserve to be fired? Yes. I don't know what the market is right now for coaches.. I think Kevyn Adams could do it.

Statistically miller is still very good and there isn't many who are consistently better.

I'd say brodeur, rinne, lundqvist I'd take any day over miller (maybe not brodeur at this point) and probably eventually quick, but other than that? Could argue a case for luongo but they seem pretty similar to me.

Thomas was obviously out of his mind but I hate that (frank)er so poo him.
