This team would be much worse off without him. Who exactly would be playing goal? Leggio?

Yes, I'm sure the team would be much better off.

Move along now. You're just talking yourself into more of a corner.

Miller might as well change his name to Jim Carey.

One hit wonder.... I like what Buffalo has going for them... they are much better than their record shows.

He wasn't even in the top 10 last year for most shots against.. and he still had below average numbers.

Rinne had the most SA last year.. and was a vezina candidate.. and didn't cry to the media about his team needing to be better.. he made the saves that needed to be made and helped carry his team into the playoffs.

Same can be said about Ward who year after year deals with mediocrity and gets hammered with tons of shots and still... no throwing the team under the bus. You see a pattern here.. goalies who don't have giant egos tend to stay quiet and worry about their own game.

If Miller was leading the league in every statistical category.. and was only letting in less than a goal a game and the team was still losing.. then I could understand his frustration.

I've always been a big fan of team players... thats why Luongo always irked me when he did interviews a few years ago. I never immediately blame the goalie.. but history has shown... a great defensive system can hide average goaltending.. and great goaltending can hide an average team/system. Miller already proved that a few years ago.. and hasn't been able to do that since.

No one probably cared enough to put cameras in the faces of the other goaltenders. Cam ward doesn't have the balls to be the face of a franchise. Ryan Miller does. Same thing with Luongo. He had the balls to be the captain of the 'Nucks and he rode through the criticism. Just when they were about to poop can him he said not so fast. Millers only fault is staying in Buffalo. He has no one else to blame but himself for that.

Pominville is a much more even keeled kind of guy. He never gets too high or too low which can be a good thing sometimes. He's much more careful with what he says. It's just his personality. You couldn't really find someone much more opposite of that than Miller. That being said, I think that's why both of them are considered leaders here. They both bring something different to the table.

Jerry Sullivan was blasting Pominville today calling him a bad captain. The balls on these guys to rip maybe the most consistent player on the team to shreds because he doesn't do what Miller did and drop a bunch of curse words to the media. It's shameful what this team has made the media and fan base resort to, all because they won't fire a coach, Gm, or make a trade

BTW, I like how you avoided the question of who should play goal once they trade Miller.

Dude, Miller is so far from this teams issue it's ridiculous. They clear the zone like a high school team. Their forwards back check like they are in Pee Wee. Their coach plays a 35 year old soup for brains 4th line center more than he does Vanek. If their is one thing I don't worry about it's Miller

Totally disagree. Who on this roster outside of the first line do you like? What guy are you so jealous of when he plays like "man why cant he be on my team"?

I find it amusing that the "media" is blasting Pominville for not saying anything, yet we have this yoohoo fan from another team in here ripping Miller for saying something.

Basically, the players are damned if they do and damned if they don't. So really, they may as well just say how they feel and get over it all.

Besides, what was Pominville supposed to say yesterday? He played probably one of his worst games as an NHL player. They all have them once in a while. But how is he supposed to get up there and yell at everyone else when he was just as bad? He can't, and he knows that.

Jerry Sullivan is an ass anyway. I wish he'd just go back to Boston and leave Buffalo alone. I change the station when he comes on. Pompous ass that he is.

Not only do most the fans see that, but local and national media agree, Ryan Miller is not holding this team back. Is he a god among men? No. But making this about Ryan is dumb.

Bernier.. Vokoun... Ellis... heck.. even Luongo.. could all be had. Possibly even giving Enroth the remainder of the season.

I've heard Hiller's name in the trade rumors in the past.. even Elliot could be a plan C.

There are some options.. doesn't hurt to take a look. Looking at Miller's numbers throughout his career.. he hasn't exactly been holding this team together. I'm sure there is someone else who can play well enough to cover that.. and along with ditching Ruff... they will be well on their way.

If there is anything I agree with Sullivan about it is Ruff, he has been calling for him to get fired for years. I love how this organization has put all the onus on the players. Where is the accountability on Ruff and Regeir?? We see it, we criticize them, but the local media again can only focus on Pominville and Miller.

Elliott has been a mess this year. No thanks. I'm not about to move someone that's nowhere near close to the problem for someone who's worse.

Ellis and Vokoun are backups for a reason. Luongo would be an expensive pickup and I'm not about to give away a bunch to bring in a guy for a guy that's not the problem.

Hiller lost his job to a 30 year old back up because he's been subpar this year.

None of those guys would be an upgrade in any way because Miller is not the problem. It doesn't matter who is back there, at the end of the day, the goaltending here is not what's causing the problem. So what exactly is the point of focusing on it?

http://www.nhl.com/ice/pl...me=summary&sort=wins&pg=3

Enroth is ranked 67th out of 68 goalies that saw any ice time this year. Right now he is as bad as they come. The Sabres need a backup goaltender who can come in, spell Miller, win some games. Legitimate competition like at every other position on the ice. They haven't had a backup they were willing to play in 6 years.

Ya you're right... scoring is the problem. They have the best GAA in the league.. they need more goals.

Some people don't like Miller, I understand it. But I would be on board with trading him if we finally decide to rebuild. Other than that scenario it's not like trading him would somehow improve the team immediately

alot can be said that buffalo was one of the worst drafting teams for a long stretch. i really cant think of many players that we drafted that were bad in buffalo and left here and were awesome anywhere else. since we have hired our new drafting affiliates in 2008 we have had some rather aggreable drafts.

They need better defense. They may be putting up good offensive numbers, but that doesn't help when you give up as many shots per game as their giving up.

Miller gave up 4 goals yesterday. Not one of which was his fault or did he have any chance on.

If they're going to do a full rebuild, I'm all for it as well. I've been saying that for a few weeks now. But just moving him and trying to patch the rest together is only going to make it worse. Which is basically what this guy is telling us they should do.

Our backup goalie hasn't won a game in his last 14 starts. It's not because he is not capable of winning a game, it's that the team in front of him is not capable of playing well enough Defense to allow an average goalie to win a game

Yeah, I'm tired of putting band aids on a sinking ship. Can the coach, set Ryan Miller free to see what he can do elsewhere. Rebuild.
