They'll never do that though. If there's one thing that they're very good at, it's being good enough to screw themselves out of draft positioning. - HonkFortheGoose
It's part of the Buffalo mediocrity curse. |

Considering how terrible my goalies have been, the fact that I'm in 4th place is pretty good. |

Even forgetting that Miller looks extremely malnourished, he really needs to learn to keep his frustration within the team.
Spouting off to the media looks so selfish and extremely egotistical on his part.. this is a TEAM game.. and he should probably look in the mirror before he starts throwing the rest of the team under the bus.
Apparently, in his mind, one incredible season sure seems to take priority over the other 9 mediocre seasons he has under his belt. |

He admitted after the Toronto game that he needed to be better. But I can understand him being frustrated at this point. He's faced the most shots in the league. If you were him, you'd be pissed too.
I'm sure he's said stuff inside the locker room. He's also not the first player to voice his frustration to the media and he certainly will not be the last. |

I'm glad that someone finally said something. It was starting to seem like none of them cared. I like that someone cares.
Why is it that Miller is the one getting all the criticism about saying something? If I'm not mistaken, Ott said something too.
Why isn't anyone criticizing him? |

He wasn't even in the top 10 last year for most shots against.. and he still had below average numbers.
Rinne had the most SA last year.. and was a vezina candidate.. and didn't cry to the media about his team needing to be better.. he made the saves that needed to be made and helped carry his team into the playoffs.
Same can be said about Ward who year after year deals with mediocrity and gets hammered with tons of shots and still... no throwing the team under the bus. You see a pattern here.. goalies who don't have giant egos tend to stay quiet and worry about their own game.
If Miller was leading the league in every statistical category.. and was only letting in less than a goal a game and the team was still losing.. then I could understand his frustration.
I've always been a big fan of team players... thats why Luongo always irked me when he did interviews a few years ago. I never immediately blame the goalie.. but history has shown... a great defensive system can hide average goaltending.. and great goaltending can hide an average team/system. Miller already proved that a few years ago.. and hasn't been able to do that since. |

Its not even what he said.. but how he said it. Sounds like a cry baby almost every time he is interviewed... its ridiculous.
All I've been hearing is how much fans want this guy traded.. for whatever they can get.
This team needs 2 things... a new coach.. and a new goalie. They have some great pieces (more so on the offensive side) and could be a real contender with a couple more pieces. |

I wasn't talking about last year. I was talking about this year. The amount of frustration surrounding this team is starting to boil over. Steve Ott spoke up too. Why aren't you crucifying him at the moment?
Oh, that's right, because people like to just hate on Miller. It's what the "cool kids" do.
Miller has always been vocal about his feelings. Just because Rinne and Ward aren't, doesn't mean that what Miller did was wrong. Besides, you're not a Sabres fan anyway, so what's it to you in the first place?
Here's an idea, take your thoughts and keep them to yourself. Just like you're telling him to do. |

The media and fans do not make the decisions... all it does it make him look like an ass. Thats all it did.
If he has legitimate concerns... go talk to the coach.. gm... owner.. and other players. Have they had a players only meeting this year started by him?
Has he let in no soft goals this year? Is he the teams MVP so far this year? (or last year for that matter) this team is struggling.. and HE is one of the problems.
When one of the issues is calling out to the media about other issues.. it just looks silly. |

The goalie is fine. They need a new coach. The reason people want the goalie traded is because he's one of the guys on the team that can fetch the most in return. It has nothing to do with them thinking he's bad or not wanting him here.
Miller has been far from the problem this year. If you take him off this team, the result ends up even worse than what we've already seen. |

what legitamate concern? he's frustrated and did not call our a single player. he didn't say that one guy is the reason we lost. believe it or not the fans pay the players salaries. i for one am glad that he cares and is visibly showing it. nobody cares in carolina or nashville if they lose. its a different world
the general opinion around buffalo is that we are happy that miller is unhappy with losing. the people who go to the games and buy his jersey dont think he was an ass |

Goaltending is the least of this teams problems. The amount of scoring chances (not even just shots) Miller faces is ridiculous. He was on his way to stealing that Pens game and the "team" once again gave it away in the final 2 minutes. Miller deserves to play on a team like LA or NYR where it is defense first and they don't hang their goalies out to dry. |

I like how you assume he hasn't tried talking to the coach. Or the GM. Or the owner.
Miller is a smart guy. He does tend to let his emotions get to him sometimes, but that's honestly one of the things I like about him.
It's not like he hunted down the media to female dog. They come to him because he's one of the leaders on the team. He doesn't sugar coat things. They know they're going to get an honest answer. And I bet the guys in the room respect him for that a lot more than you seem to think. |

Well I'm not a "professional" athlete... talking to the media which will be seen by potentially millions of people. I'm a nobody talking to a few people on a hockey blog website... sharing my opinions. Much like you. Sooo.. kind of a big difference.
Didn't think many of you would disagree that the team has a lot of solid pieces in place and needs a couple changes... one of which should include Miller being gone.

Actually watch the start of a Sabres game. Watch how the first few minutes of the 1st period is kept in the Sabres end and the fans actually cheer when they finally clear the zone for the first time, it's pathetic, this team needs a new coach |

Yes, I'm sure the team would be much better off.

Pominville is a much more even keeled kind of guy. He never gets too high or too low which can be a good thing sometimes. He's much more careful with what he says. It's just his personality. You couldn't really find someone much more opposite of that than Miller. That being said, I think that's why both of them are considered leaders here. They both bring something different to the table. |
