the kid is awesome, led the NHL in takeaways last season and plus put up pretty good numbers playing with a rookie and a 3rd line grinder! give him a point producer and u well see what he can do. i would have loved to seen him play with landy in his second year in the nhl and see what he could really do! I dont think he is a legit 1st line center in the nhl but he is one of the best 2nd line centers in the leauge. And is one of the best 2way players in the game! |

vancouver has never won the cup. please only reference them when talking about teams like the blue jackets and sens who are equally as unsuccessful |

Minnesota, Florida, Edmonton, Ottawa and St. Louis are the teams with the prospect depth that allow them to offer up highly attractive packages. You assume Colorado wants a guy who can play some D for them right now as well as an elite prospect. Florida certainly has the pieces. Gudbranson or Kulikov would get my attention if either were included in a package along with a prospect. - spatso
Times are changing here in South Florida. Gudbranson would stay. But I would not object to Kulikov getting moved. You wouldn't find anyone down here who objects to Weiss being moved either. It's clear that our youth movement is here. Huberdeau, Shore, Mueller, Markstrom, Gudbranson.. all the cornerstones of this franchise with plenty more to come. I would think O'Reilly would like it here. He has plenty of young players to grow with, and can be our #1 guy is he's that kind of player. |

either of those deals would be highway robbery. O'Reilly's not a prospect too. 3 seasons under his belt. He's definitely worth Gardiner+ and arounf the ballpark of Couturier. - TheNugeIsHuge
Nonis aint trading Gardiner for him & Philly aint trading Couturier for him. Besides, the Avs are so arrogant & over rate him sooo much they would probably say no to either straight up so tell the Avs to go poop themselves.

I realize he's a good young player. But you're not getting any of the top young players in the game for him. You can rule out guys like Evander Kane, Keith Yandle. |

Its not that the Avs over rate him, they dont want to trade him, but if we are forced to do so we want a huge over payment. But they are prepared for him to sit and learn a lesson.
I think they are trying to beat him down, we dont want to pay you that much, we are shopping you and no one wants to trade for you to pay you that much, so smarten up and sign that bridge deal like Duchene and earn your next contract |

Not at all man, all the leaves and abs fans took all the weed
I heard it yesterday from a pretty reliable source. Apparently WPG asked for a prospect with ROR and they would add a pick. Panthers I'm also told are going pretty hard too, offering Kulikov and Shore. It's turning into a bidding war and that's exactly what the Avs were hoping for.
I remember the last time this franchise had a hold-out, they ended up with:
Peter Forsberg, Steve Duchesne, Ron Hextall, Mike Ricci, Kerry Huffman, 2 picks (J.Thibault & Chris Simon) + $15 Million in cash! The $15 million dollars was HUGE when you consider the average team payroll was $8.1 million and Wayne Gretzky led the league with a $3 million salary.
Not saying he's Lindros but let the bidding begin LOL |

Everybody will want an overpayment, on any and all of their players. But you don't get them on holdouts.
You say it would take an overpayment for O'Reilly.... Don't you think the Flyers would like a big overpayment to pry a kid like Couturier away from them? |

No way in hell Tallon trades Drew Shore. He has become a fan favorite in the few games he has played and is the main reason Huberdeau and Mueller are playing so well. Kulikov and Weiss all day. Your information is wrong. |

The point is I don't think management wants anyone to come with them with a reasonable deal. They don't even want to be tempted at the trade, he actually is very important to the team and would be hard to replace. |

I still stand by what I say, the Avs are asking wayyyyy to much but that being said, I think Florida could make the most fair offer for him: Weiss & Kulikov. The Cats wouldn't need Weiss if they got RO, plus the Avs want a top 6 forward like him. Kulikov is the young player the Avs are asking for . If the Avs are arrogant & want more, I guess the Cats can throw in a 2nd. After all the Cats have been so amazing piling high picks since Tallon took over. Get it done: Weiss. Kulikov & a 2nd. O'Reilly should soon be welcome to the land of everyday fresh oranges. |

I think they'd be fine without him. With Duchene, Stastny already lining up at centre, Landeskog there, and a team that's pretty weak on D, it could do them well to trade him. Obviously no one likes having their hands forced, but the Avs could use some help on D.
In other words, if they could get a good young Dman, they'd make out just fine I think. |

If you ask the fans, we would rather keep O'Reilly, trade stastny for a dman and use his money to pay O'Reilly |

Interesting development. Center Mike Santorelli was JUST recalled from San Antonio. He's a young centerman as well. We have no new injuries... take from this what you will. I wouldn't mind Weiss and Kuli, but I don't think they offer Weiss because of his expiring contract. |

Gunarsson is a very reliable d-man, what about him, Bozak & a 2nd from the Leafs? Avs are getting 2 young players who can fill the need on the D & a reliable center behind Matt & Paul.
