nobody is against a trade so long as it is the right one. Problem is the trades you propose are unlikely.

Buying out Briere will free up some money. Not sure what they will do once they have to pay Giroux, Schenn, and Couturier. Hopefully by then some contracts come off the books or they will have to move some guys.
