Trade or buy out briere buy out bryz if briere gets traded. Buy out pronger. Opens up tons of cap space. Trade coots ( I like him but we have Laughton ) or picks or package things together for high prospect goalie #1 puck moving dman or True #1scoring winger for g. Between coots picks and free agency should be able to get at least 2 of those things. Let them gel with the rest of our core and gives a few years to add last pIece of puzzle if needed in a few years when all comes togetgher. Sorry but it's alot better plan than now. Like I said earlier Philly always thinks they have shot at cup. And they are fooling themselves. Trading for oats or Burke I mean WTF build it the right way. They Ritchie and carts but get 31 year old goalie. Dumb.

Can't buyout Pronger. He's injured. And despite all the conversation today. You still think Couturier is expendable because we have Laughton? What's dumb is buying out a Goalie who is playing at the top of his game, to get a young unproven player that isn't a guarantee of anything. You're acting like Bryzgalov is in net with a walker and is going to keel over at any time.

Anthony Stolarz stopped 24 out of 25 shots in London's 8-1 win over Erie today.

Laughton & Suellentrop had no points today in Oshawa's 6-2 win over Sudbury

Bryzgalov wasn't a product of the Tippett system when he had the second longest shutout streak in NHL playoff history, he was a Duck. Bryzgalov wasn't behind Tippett's system during his first year in Phoenix, when he put up very good numbers. He wasn't behind Phoenix's system when h was NHL player of the month in March of 2012.

I'm not being tough and defending, you're making rather poor suggestions in terms of roster moves to make and I'm commenting on them. No, I'm not crazy about Bryzgalov's contract, but I do think he's a very good goalie, and I am quite content to have him.

No, I wouldn't trade Sean Couturier for Jonathan Bernier and his lack of experience and buy out Bryzgalov. Sure, there's goalies I'd take ahead of him, but most of them are not obtainable unless you pay a massive price.

Are you sure you're not a Philadelphia area hockey writer?

I like the kid.

He gets no respect. Reminds me of Andy Reid.

Minus the all black version of the Michelin Man jumpsuit of course. Plus Andy Reid had a bad ass utility belt.

so to sum it up..

Step 1: Trade/buyout Briere, buyout Bryz, buyout an injured Pronger.
Step 2: Coots and picks for high prospect goalie
Step 3: Acquire #1 dman and 1st line scoring winger.
Step 4: Stanley Cup?

sounds easy enough

I hope not. The Flyers have too many centers. I would like to see Laughton make the team for next year.

Cousins looks solid also.

Now look at what? Neither has proven anything. They could be busts just as well as they could be very good. That's what you're missing. Bernier is not a guarantee of anything.

And what are we giving up to get Bernier?

- MJL

Chance of winning cup with bryz 0% couldn't be worse. And I believe biron had 6 so with Philly one year. Guess he was great like bryz right. And chances are good bernier will be very good goalie. He has NHL starts. Has looked good so not like signing bob out of Russia hoping to find gold.

Provide some quantitative evidence that the chance of winning the Cup is 0% with Bryzgalov? Chances are good that Bernier might be a very good NHL Goalie. I already know that Bryzgalov is a very good NHL Goalie.

I wish it was as easy as putting together a fantasy Hockey shopping list.

Plus a #1 defenseman. Is there an NHL Player Flea Market that I'm unaware of?
- MJL

Um plummeted begging to trade weber but dummy homer didn't want to give up schenn or coots. Why? If Laughton makes team next year we will have at least 5 centers. Why?? Took Nashville a week to match that offer. Homer doesn't want to move them. I understand letting them grow but eventually we have to move some pieces to get what we need. And with buy outs we will have cap space.

Like I said earlier today, I'm perfectly willing to trade players in the right moves. The moves you've suggested aren't it. Name for me a true #1 defenseman that we can trade Couturier for, and we'll talk. You've yet to provide who that player is. This isn't NHL 13.

Nashville wanted both Schenn and Couturier. You need 4 Centers in this League. And B Schenn can play the Wing like he did today.

If Nashville only asked for one of those guys for Weber I would've pulled the trigger on that deal. I get this feeling the Preds wanted more in the deal.

Really, it sounds like the cornerstone of our roster needs to be some sort of mystical hockey conjurer at this point. We've got quite a shopping list of things we apparently need for this magical 100% certain Cup run in 3-4 years.
- BulliesPhan87

Homer traded our cornerstones to get younger. Great move. But fully committ. If we don't make playoffs this year was it worth it. Was it worth it watching nj destroy us last year. Fully Committ is what im looking for. Think of the teams we gave to beat to win a cup. Ie Pitt nj nyr chi van. We aren't close to those teams. Yeah on any given night we can beat them but to expect to go throUgh all those to a cup ain't happening
