As for O'Reilly...not coming here. I don't know why we think the Isles would be set to add him knowing what he's asking for. I'd be floored if they did. And I wouldn't even want him if he cost something like Grabner. I just hope he doesn't end up in the Atlantic. |

I would also be floored if the Isles got him. Yep just no Atlantic division teams. |

not only that 4.5 million for a guy who had one decent year? - Vukota
I agree... and to be honest, I have not watched alot of O'Reilly.
He is kinda of and unknown to me.
But if he is as good as some experts say... he would be the perfect 2 way second centre on this team.
With Casey as the # 3... we would be set down the middle. |

we already have strome on the way and nelson coming. I don't see a reason to take a major risk on O'Reilly. Do we offer a 22 year old kid with one good season a 5 year deal for almost JT money? Not even mentioning the assets we'd have to trade to get him. Seems like a massive risk. |

Considering Bruno Gervais plays big minutes for us, I'd say payback is pretty likely.

Not my money....
And I don't want to wait 2 years for a second line centre... that might not work out.
Plus I'm just throwing it out there... Like I said, I haven't seen much of O'Reilly.
Gotta give to get!!!

Isles shouldn't trade Brock Nelson. trade Okposo, Dehaan, Anders Lee and Dipietro for REilly - ISLES1119
Avs wouldn't do that deal!!!
The DP factor kill any deal!!!

I think Nelson can be a 40 goal scorer. I would consider him an untouchable. - potvin05
40 goals... he can't even get that in the "A".
Maybe 20 to 25 if he pans out.
Where is everybody....

It's the cost that concerns me. Especially with the upcoming UFA class. While we have been awful in the UFA category over the last few years, I'm anticipating that this MAY be a different kind of offseason coming for the Isles. If that is the case, if Snow plans to kick the rebuild into overdrive this season, then there's no better time than with a UFA class like this coming offseason.
I'd much rather throw $5-6 million over 4-5 years at someone like a Joe Thornton, Marleau, Datsyk, Sedin (either), etc. I realize most of the guys on that list will resign but there are far better players to be had this upcoming offseason than O'Reilly not to mention the prospects we anticipate challenging for a role next year.

Darn it, leave Uncle Cholly alone! He's only human and did plenty of good, and put alot of love into LI and the franchise.
Keep Nelson...RESIGN MOLSON ASAP (show appreiation and do it for JT)

I agree with bixll. I don't like the O'Reilly situation the more I think about it. - potvin05
I don't like it either...I was just trying to make a reasonable projection of Nelson's upside |

They should wrap it up with a cartoon showing the Isles "accidentally" leaving Sparky behind in the Coliseum as it's locked down and scheduled for demolition. |
