O'Reilly would be worth overpaying in monetary terms, but not in a trade. If the Leafs could swindle the Avalanche (something that's happened before), paying O'Reilly 4.5 to 5 million dollars is a risk worth taking because his two-way ability and potential is indeed really good as a young 2nd line center. All they would have to do is trade Grabovski.

It would be interesting to see if the Leafs could manage a three way trade with a team that would be interested in taking Grabovski (Colorado wouldn't like his salary). But three way deals in the NHL are pretty rare these days.

I like O'Reilly, I think he would be great on Toronto and if we could make a trade for him where we move Grabovski and a middling prospect (or Bozak and middling prospect) I would be all for it - even if we did have to overpay slightly on his salary.

Avs wont want two Dmen....plus the leafs would be foolish to give up two dmen.

It would be Gardiner, 2nd and Kulemin...or Gardiner , 1st, McGegg or another offensive forward prospect.
