My league has hits and block shots. The reason why my team looks like freighttrain. Always pick three goalies in the first three rounds and draft only power forwards like Backes, Ruutu, Doan, Brown, Lucic and stuff. - AdamFrench

i don't think 55 pts at 21 is late developing - bobbyisno1
Some value him in terms of draft position..He was drafted 33rd and getting 55pts at 21 for some means he was a late bloomer considering where he was drafted.....
Thats how it works apparently....... |

Never get him because this Rangers fan always scoops him up with his first pick He offered me Crosby for Lundqvist, I promptly told him to fist himself. |

I remember reading that some buildings have hit counters who are absolutely out to lunch. If I recall, the teams were actually ranked by how inflated the hits were.

WTF, where do people get this bit of information?
O'Reilly tough?
What convinced you of that? His average of 14 minutes in penalties a year????
People always claim Bozak is too soft, but I've never seen so many people who think O'Reilly is tough and gritty. He isn't.
He competes hard, but certainly doesn't carry the edge and snarl like Gilmour had. - Barx
I was trying to say that, but Luke Schenn got brought into it.
And I keep hearing how bad Kadri is defensively, here's the thing, where Kadri actually makes his defensive mistakes is on giveaways in the offensive zone. In our zone, he consistently takes the puck out of trouble and is rarely the offending player when a mistake is made, But so much has been made of his so-called defensive shortcomings, and his supposed lack of size (ask Regeher about that lack of size), that it automatically is assumed he's some little weak ass piece of poop. My eyes say otherwise, if you feel I'm wearing rose coloured glasses fine, go on listening to Joe Bowen call the games. |

This seems a little like Phil Kessel, as well. Currently +4, for what it's worth.
Amazing what happens to the +/- of your top forwards in TOI when goaltending and defense stabilize.
Kadri, like Kessel, got a reputation (earned or unearned, but that's beside the point), and now we just default to that position. |

If Kadri's defensive game progresses at it's current pace, he'll be just fine. |

Toronto might be one of them considering Bozak appears on the stat sheet to hit everything in sight, yet I only see him throw one or two during the game. |

he has a bit of an edge that far too many people forget.....I'm not gonna go as far as Tucker by any stretch, not even Gilmour, but he definitely has a bit of nastiness in him. |

I heard this a couple years ago, but yeah, that sounds about right. The TO stat guy loves tallying them up, I guess. The Leafs did rank somewhere near the top.
Bozak isn't exactly Lucic here.
I think it goes both ways, though. The hit counter gives the Leafs a ton, but he seems to give everybody a bunch on both teams. |

How easy would it be to slip the guy 50 bucks to double your hits and walk into the negotiation room using the amount of hits as a bargaining tool for a new contract |

I am sorry but the goalies were not to blame last year... the poor team defence which saw them all jumping rushes.. and the lousy team compete factor from the forwards.. who would cough up bad rushes.
Goalie should make the save on the first one.. maybe the second but to allow 3 or 4 shots was ridiculous.
The reason Kessel's +/- is better is that he is back checking as well as his other team mates.. Carlyle's system has helped to minimize shots from dangerous areas.. especially repeat ones.. from the danger area...
These goalies haven't changed.. but the team around them has..

Wait, you're telling me Ron Wilson's desire for our flow footed defenders to pinch everytime was a bad defensive move? Next you'll be telling me that was the cause of all those 2 on one's... |

The goalies were made out to be the scapegoats last year but not even Henrick Lundquist could've helped that crappy one way team..
