As for Gardiner, I'm of the opinion you can never have too many d. Percy/Finn/Blacker, they can all turn out to be the next Brendan Bell. Just stick with what we have, and make damn sure we continue to make the most of our picks.

Agreed. It's likely Percy, Finn, Rielly, Gardiner & Blacker will not ALL go on to have long flourishing NHL careers, I'd love it if they all did but it's the law of averages. That's why it's smart to keep stock piling these kind pf d-men. Too bad JFJ didn't believe in this theory. He thought having two highly touted draft picks who were goalies was one too many. It's the team's biggest need right now. Bozak would be a great third line centre, but the Leafs will never go anywhere with him as their number 1.

Hope and praying isn't a great team management strategy. If they could get O'Reilly, I'd definitely do it, and still go after Getzlaf. Teams with more than two top centres generally find a place to put them.... Kopitar, Richards, Carter are all centres. A lot of teams have several of them, and move one to the wing. I'd rather that than not have 2 good ones.
