What ever floats your boat. Gardiner+ isn't being realistic and 2 posts later agreeing on Gards+Kule+2nd is overpaying.

It never gets old around here.

your never said +......you said shouldn't be much else. Big difference.

Anywho, as per usual, your nonsense becomes quite boring fast.....so Im moving on.

Bingo.

believe me, if COL would accept Liles in return of the deal instead of Gards I'm all for that, just doesnt seem to realistic at this point does it?

kid is good, but i think with Reilly has a stronger upside than Gardiner and i'm not sure Carlyle is high on Gards.

and what gives you that impression?

Who has yet to play a single pro hockey game.
Jesus.

PS: Schenn was decent as a jr as well....we all know how that turned out.

- Fakepartofme

He's played about 35 less than Gardiner....
He's a top 5 pick..
He's basically a carbon copy of Gardiner. If you want Gardiner then trade Morgan Reilly.....Because of these two one is expendable for the right piece...It's why you collect assets and always take best player available at the draft.

I think the foot speed on Schenn and Morgan Reilly are completely different and Morgan Reilly's game is totally situated for today's speed game.

Oh I know...I was more so agreeing with his assessment of having both Gard and Rielly on the backend would be a great combo.

Not sure why people only want to keep one of them.

That doesn't make Gardiner expandable.

Having Gardiner and Rielly on the backend would be deadly.

Especially on both PP Units.

If anything, Rielly makes Liles, the older puck mover, expandable.

- jbold

You let me know what you get for Liles in a trade....

Unsubstanciated rumours, either way i think Gardiner and Reilly are similar pieces, i would rather place my bets on Reilly though at this point.

I thought Gardiner is a god amongst men. Surely you meant O'Reilly, Landeskog, and Duschene for him right?
- muffin_man

if you are going to troll .. at least attempt to be somewhat elegant or subtle about it.... but I guess that's too much to ask after that mind numbing destruction that happened at the "Centre Bell" a little over a week ago.

here's something to think about each time you are attempting (poorly) to rip on a Leafs fan's opinion of trade value... Halak, Ryder and 2nd for Lacavalier....

and if that doesn't work contemplate what the over under is on Markov getting injured.

trebles in the water.

Oh Im not comparing the talent level at all.....just that jr numbers dont always translete to NHL success.

As usual your nonsense is wrong.... it's best you move on.

Shouldn;t be much else, mean no 1st or top prospect. but keep going, please. GArdiner+ is not being realistic and then Gardiner+Kule+2nd is an overpayment.

For the right piece, I agree....I dont think OR is the right piece.
I'd rather have them both.

Such is Leaf Land.......lets trade away the team because we have a player in jr playing well.

They don't always translate into great NHL numbers but when you pair it with his top 5 selection and the way he moves the puck he's perfect in today's game...

I was just saying Gardiner gets the trade done....In saying that if I'm going to give up Jake Gardiner in a trade I explore my options for other number one centers before I go all in on O'Reilly.

Unless a player is elite, they're expendable.

Doesn't mean they're bad, just means that for the right package/player, you should trade them.

The player playing well in Jr. is a top 5 pick and actually made the Canadian World Jr. team in a key role....

Pretty amazing how quickly people have forgotten how impressive Gardiner was in his rookie season and now want to trade him for a 50 point forward who is asking for WAAAY too much money.

Ignoring the fact that O'Reilly is actually a bit younger than Gardiner.

You say this like it's something new. I don't get the super hard on for O'Reilly. As soon as any young player is rumoured to be on the way out, every single time we read about the Leafs would be crazy not to make the move.
