I wouldnt mind paying 4+ to O'Rielly provided the contract didnt extend beyond 3 years. If he turns out to be a flash in the pan (Leino) we have the money to bury him in the minors.

I'm not ok with trading Gardiner, and any Leaf fan with a brain isn't either.

...including one of those years where he missed games due to surgery for his cancer. Even when he returned there's very little chance he was 100%. O'Reilly hasn't been more than a point a year guy since before junior, which was around the time in his career that Kessel put up 286 points in 86 games

He's definitely not untouchable, but he's also not dispensible.

Personally I see O'Reilly as being similar to Grabovski. He'd be a good addition, but I don't see him as being a bona-fide top line centre. I'd love to be wrong about him, but still, I think that including Gardiner is overpaying.

If we offer for O'Reilly, send Liles and Bozak. They won't get many better offers than a replacement for O'reilly and a good number 4 dman, both of whom are familiar with life in Denver.

It's not about him being 'untouchable', it's about giving him up for another 2nd line centreman with a 5 million dollar cap hit. We already have one of those.
