Same...but if we wind up with the 4th pick I'll scream

Jones Mackinnon Drouin is ideal

Hypothetically if we wind up with the 1st pick I dont think we can take Jones given our desperate need for scoring....even though he is the clear #1 pick at this point

- HAMgerber

Where is this "desperate need for scoring" coming from? We're 11th in the league in goals for. 27th in goals against. D is the issue. Not scoring.

I just said two words, nothing more nothing less

typical Miller game vs the pens

starts out like crap
plays on his head for 40 minutes

then too slow to get over on the 3rd goal

then makes his best save of the year

then gets screened and a knuckle puck beats him glove hand

Ryan Miller
not the problem, not the solution

we have just as much of a chance to make the playoffs with the rochester goalies up here

zero

- homiedclown

You never fail man.

The guy who ends up making his way towards the front of the net to deflect it in from an improbable angle is the same guy that created another CODY HODGSON turnover behind the net.

Yeah, thats on Miller.

Another PK faceoff lost. Another terrible collapsed PK box. Another terrible no-one getting in front of the shot. It deflects wide of Miller off the backstop and rebounds right to Crosby on the side of the net.

Yeah, thats on Miller.

Pominville turns the puck over in the gray area (2 feet either side of a blue line), the Pens sustain pressure, everyone is running around, and they send a cross ice pass one timer into a gaping net.

Yeah, thats on Miller.

3 bodies trying to play goalie, but none of them want to get in front of the puck.

Yeah, thats on Miller.

We shouldve just played Enroth and lose 6-2 and then you couldve blamed the team for sucking and we wouldnt have to worry about talking about our goalies.

McNabb has racked up 3 goals and 24 assists in Rochester. That's where he's disappeared to. He also won the hardest shot contest at the AHL all star game.

-Trade Myers to Winnapeg for Evander Kane (add scoring, grit, and toughness... Categorical stats which the Sabres desperately need, & areas where Myers is coming up short).

-Call up Brayden McNabb (6'5", 200+ lbs, and he's the best open ice hitter Buffalo has seen since Mike Peca).

Vanek/Hodgson/Pominville
Foligno/Ennis/Kane
Ott/Grigorenko/Stafford
Scott/McKormik/Kaleta

Erhoff/McNabb
Regher/Leopold
Webber/Sekera

- SuperCat

I'm not against trading Myers necessarily, but I think they can do better than Evander Kane.

Why isnt he the first call up instead of that other rookie ?

This should never really be the goal. Ever. I'd rather they just tank at this point and get the high pick.

Why not?

He wasn't really blaming Miller. He basically said the result would be the same whoever was back there. Indicating that the team itself was the problem.

Maybe I'm reading it differently than you though.

Pardy is the first call up because he's been in the NHL for longer probably. I think they'd rather leave most of the guys there intact as much as possible right now. Pardy was the odd man out here, so he's the first guy that gets called up.

From what it sounds like, Pardy is too good for the AHL.

That was the most underachieving team I think I have ever seen. The Sabres are no where near being close to that caliber of team IMO

He has 3 points in 8 games and is a -1. I haven't seen him play there enough to really know too much about him though.

LOve McNabb wheres he dissapeard to and agree with Myers. That guys just fading away here. One step forward two steps back.
- buffalo 1

I think due to the "numbers crunch", he's been relegated to the AHL out of sheer politics and eligibility.

But the guy is a classic stay-at-home defenseman of the Jay McKee mold, who is hungry and ready for the next level. He's looked great during his pro tenure and has much more upside than anyone on this blue line not named Erhoff or Myers.

With as bad as this squad is defensively, it's crazy/stupid to not to give him a look.

The stanley cup going up in L.A., Dallas, and Chicago speaks louder. You can dig all you want but facts are facts like you say.

Not that a good coach doesnt help
What I'm trying to say it that we don't have the players to be that successful,
No matter who the coach is

It was actually a pretty entertaining game. It was another close one though. That's the problem. There's too many of these where we come out on the wrong side of the result.

This team needs a culture change. The fastest way to do that right now is to bring in a new coach.

Look at the Kings to start this year.
I disagree. Same problems as last year.
Having trouble scoring goals and Quick looks like a 1 hit wonder right now.
Against good teams he looks awful.
Sabres get in which I think they will. Sky's the limit.

Quick had back surgery and probably isn't 100% right now. They also are missing some big pieces on their defense. It makes a huge difference.

So in Darcy's world, no coach should ever be fired. Smart.
