Could it be he had MUCH better players in LA?

Even in StL, Hitchcock is a good coach... But look at the facts...
Successful in Dallas & StL...

For those thinking about O'Reilly, the Avs gave up 56 shots last night in a 6-4loss to the Oilers, and Erik Johnson is out indefinitely. I know the word is they want a king's ransom, but I feel like a few defenseman might go a long way to getting a deal done. The Nash deal may have proven that waiting doesn't always get you more.

I actually do think Pommer is a bad captain
I frankly don't see much LEADERSHIP from any of the guys wearing letters on our team
Vanek & Pommer are both good PLAYERS
There's absolutely no arguing that
I frankly don't think we have anyone on the roster worthy of being captain besides Miller, and that's not allowed

honestly aside from Ott, I think Kaleta would make an ok captain
The frustration with this organization is making it difficult to watch them play. I have been diehard in my support of this team, but it's really starting to wain. Turning on a game becomes frustrating when I know it's only a matter of time before they f it up some how. Not only is it the play, but it's the out right arrogance of management to give us the fans an inferior product and then defend it. I'm really sick of the BS being fed to me by the management of this organization, especially the GM and Coach. Unfortunately I can't see this changing any time soon, we've had 16 years of smug excuses and the I'm smarter than everyone else and I will prove it to you crap. Phone calls to radio stations aren't going to force a change and neither will post on blogs like this. The only thing that would force a change would be at the gate and in this town starving for a winner, that's unlikely to happen. I'm mad as hell and frustrated that I can't see this getting better any time soon.

You want to know what a bad captain looks like? Go watch a Washington game. That's a bad captain. Pominville isn't even close to being a bad captain.
