Good effort but we should have won that game, I still say we are to small down the middle.

Unfortunately we're about 2-3 seasons away from that changing. At least Darcy addressed it via the draft....although a few season to late, IMO.

he still looks like a great chl player but now he's in the NHL. grig's needs to hit the gym and hard core skating drills.

To good for the CHL, not allowed to play in the AHL, not good enough to play in the NHL.

IMO teams should be allowed to assign 2-3 players to their AHL affiliate at 18 regardless of the league they play in.

To Wild:

Drew Stafford
Ville Leino
Jordan Leopold

To Sabres:

Dany Heatley
Devin Setoguchi
Matt Kassian

Heatley has failed to meet expectations since joining the Wild, even with Parise's arrival. Still, Heatley is a true sniper whom the Sabres could use to help turn around their scoring woes. Setoguchi has also continued to disappoint, but his speed is what the Sabres will find useful... especially if losing Stafford from the PK. Parise has long wanted to play together with Stafford, Leino's inclusion is more to balance the salaries and give him a new start (maybe playing with fellow Fin, Mikko Koivu, will get him going again). Leopold is a Minnesota native and with the young blueline in Minnesota, the Wild can use his leadership this year and allow his deal to expire to ask him to return at a hometown discount. The Wild are desperate to rid themselves of Kassian... he'd be sent to Rochester as a reserve intimidator and possible future replacement for John Scott. Combined salaries going each way are approximately $500k apart. Looking at the past 2 seasons statistics, the Wild would be the benefactors of this deal... but all-in-all, it's fairly balanced in talent and needs for each team.

IF something along these lines were to happen, I wouldn't be surprised if DR tried to include Gerbe for Matt Cullen. Regier has always liked Cullen, he would provide great leadership and is pretty darn good defensive-minded center who wins draws. Sabres tried to sign Cullen before he agreed with the Wild, choosing to play in his home state. He would be a solid 3rd or 4th line center and strong locker room presence.

We often disagree...
But that was a fantastic post
100% correct IMO as well

- jdfitz77

It sucks. Fleury played great today too, but he doesn't face nearly the amount of scoring chances Miller does on a nightly basis

Sabres skated this game better than pass games . in an 82 game season this loss would be not meant as much. But with us in the basement every loss is a step in the wrong direction. If they can keep up the speed and intensity every game the rest of the season out . They just might make the playoffs . Anything less and its another season like last year .. and the year before , and before ,and etc etc .

Blame Lindy for naming Pomminville Captain. Regardless of his production he's no leader. Lindy gave him the 'C' because he likes him.
Viva la Core !!!

This team needs a change and so does Lindy.

- Pairo11

The sad thing is that pominville is actually the best choice as captain
Who else do we have?

We can fire Ruff,
But NO coach will be able to do much better w this group

Grigo needs to learn that it's okay to take a stick/puck/glove to the face to make a play.

As soon as he learns to get involved and give/take a hit the team will be better for it.

Everyone is beyond frustrated. Way beyond. Listen to Millers postgame interview.
The constant negativity from some is not needed not mention often rendundant and crusty old.
I know some is supposed to humorous but I really cant believe some call themselves fans here.
Cant wait to see this team go on a run and watch how certain posters "takes" change.
It's like as the world turns here sometimes.
IMO Some here could even be considered to be trolling "thier own" blog.

We have 1 small center. Do you think Boston is concerned with getting bigger up he middle?

I think they've put together a string of 3-4 respectable games but I don't see them making the playoffs.

Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto are all better this year and they'll need to beat all three to make it in to the top 8.

yeah but the kid is slow and weak in puck battles. i can deal with slow but a hockey player needs to be great in 50/50 puck situations.

Terrible play on the third goal not getting the puck out
Then makes NO effort to engage Letang as he feeds the puck across to Dupuis
Absolutely embarrassing

Truth is, the team doesn't have anyone worthy of wearing the "C" except miller, and that's not allowed

Listen to the difference in post game interviews today between Miller & Pominville
Pominville may be a good player,
But he seems to be FAR from a good "leader"

Simply because of Lemieux, Jagr, Crosby and Malkin if I'm a Pen's fan I'll never lose sleep worrying about the next 'great' Penguin to come through the pipeline..

It just 'happens' for them...
