Bennett has looked pretty good for a 21 year old in his 2nd NHL game. The kid is creative, has good hands, and is not afraid to give up his body to make a play. I think he is going to be good, with experience. My approach is put him with Malkin or Crosby and let him learn and grow with those guys.

He made a real crafty play right at the Sabres blue line to egenerate a scoring chance.

People writing Bennett off after 2 games playing on the 3rd line. Boychuk got 6 games on the 2nd.

Also, theres no need to answer to the Ott's and Neil's of the world. Everyone saw how useless John Scott was yesterday.

I agree with your second part. There is no need to answer, because there isn't an answer except to ignore them. They are who they are because they won't answer when challenged most of the time.

Thats 100% right, but that needs to be in the AHL, he will not progress the right way here. Elite superstars are normally ok jumping into the league right away, but it takes a few years for most players to get the big game style down. I like Bennett but just dont feel like he is ready to jump into the NHL just yet.

Im not saying get a totally useless goon (like Matt Cooke haha screw you Ottawa), im saying get a guy that people are afraid to act like a fool around. Like Ott and Neil, Ruutu and Roberts played that role pretty well, even Kunitz. Just toughness not goonism

I can't believe I'm hearing anyone say he should be sent down after contributing to 2 wins in his first 2 games on the ice. The kid has been solid. Hasn't been a liability. He has good speed and makes some decent moves considering its all new. Turn him loose. He just needs chemistry. Bylsma needs to put him with Crosby and Kunitz or Malkin and Neal. He can't produce what they want if he can't learn the habits of his teammates.

Would rather see Bennett moved to Crosby's wing and move Kunitz to the Malkin line. Kunitz already has chemistry with Malkin and Neal

Did i miss something??? Sabre's fans are calling for Kunitz's head for a hit on Ott yesterday. I don't remember anything of that nature happening, although i did miss some of the second period when i was putting my son down for a nap.

The slash he gave him after Ott hit him. The slash on the top of the head.

I don't know if you noticed but Duper can play on any line. Kennedy isn't doing well enough on the 3rd line. Kunitz was a part of the best line in the NHL last year so he deserves to play on the 1st or 2nd. Bennett is our top forward prospect. If he's up with the NHL club he should be given a shot with the 1st or 2nd. Everyone else has! Cooke is the only guy who produced on the 2nd and he shouldn't be there permanently. Bennett could play with Sid and Duper or Kunitz. Either way Neal and Bennett are the snipers. They need to play up there. You want the kids best? Put him with the best. No disrespect to Sutter but he could do just fine with Cooke/Dupuis/Jeffrey or even Kennedy.

Is Bennett really a sniper? His past doesn't indicate that. Even he says that he's more of a playmaker than a shooter.

I think he could be successful on a line with Malkin & Neal, sorta how Steve Sullivan had some success there. The problem is, how long do you let that line flounder until Bennett gets comfortable, and get confidence enough in not deferring to those guys constantly?
