Horse poop 3rd period by the boys...good thing they started strong, because the Kings looked like the Kings in the 3rd.
But we'll take it |

Not liking this "taking the foot off the gas pedal" merde, half way through the 2nd period.

That's hockey, guys - most games are either extra-time or one-goal games.
Defending champs certainly good enough to take advantage of Hawk mistakes - and the mistakes they made were penalties.
Would like to see a more aggressive team with a lead in the third, but another win against a good team. |

No - ended exactly at 5PM - right within NBC's time slot. |

Wrong - timing - take care of it with one second left, not in a one-goal game with 1:04 left. |

Good point I only suggested that the refs and the Hawks gave the Kings more than their fair share of chances to steal that one. |

This game clearly illustrated the need for a big fourth line. If the Hawks and Kings were to meet in a seven game playoff series the Kings would almost certainly wear the Hawks down physically. I’m wondering now if a big physical defenseman may not be required as well. That said great two and a half periods to get the win. |

4th line was FINE...dumbass play by the top line and the d was the problem.

I agree...Toews and Oduya's penalties made this game interesting...Still can't beliee Q didn't put Toews out there to take that faceoff when the Kings had the 6on4???
Would like to see the Hawks add some size if they can...
Anyone think the PK thing snowballs into something bad? Like it was just a fluke until now? |

Hawks more than the refs: lucky to get that diving call. |

@liam_mchugh: Chicago acquired Johnny Oduya on 2-27-2012. With him in the lineup Blackhawks are 24-2-7. @NHLonNBCSports |

No - they've been mostly excellent on D in all situations this year - even, PK, 5 on 3 - mostly very good at protecting goal, clearing puck. PK should be ok. |

Very true...also unlucky to not get a goaltender interference call near the end too...goes both ways. Q has to piece together that passive 3rd periods + stupid turnovers + dumb decisions = a disaster in the making.
Edit: According to box score on NHL.com, Stoll's penalty was unsportsmanlike conduct. So it could have been him mouthing off that sent him to the box. |

I had no problem with the 4th line per se, that wasn't my point. The Hawks need a line that can handle the physical play and mete out some of their own. The Kings took control of the game once they started to crash and bang.
What do you think would happen if these two teams meet in the playoffs? |

Again...4th line was effective when out there..reason the Kings took over was we lacked discipline and CHOKED. Hard for the 4th line to get rolling when they're on the bench watching the pk unit. |
