Haven't heard an anthem that dragged out since the Super Bowl... - deerow84
Did you ever hear Marvin Gaye sing the anthem at the NBA all-star game?

So the Sabres are losing, and it's Luke Schenn's fault? |

I didn't but I could imagine.
BTW is it too early in the season to start hoping the teams below us lose to the ones ahead of us? For example we probably won't catch the Pens but the Sabres can catch us...so..,go Pens? |

Of all the teams above us right now, I think the only team we have a chance of finishing ahead of is Montreal. |

You know, your team's getting blown out again...When do you turn off the game and find something else to do...Or do you keep watching it until the bitter end? |

Agreed. And the Bruins will taken the division. Unless the Habs and Sens fall off I think it will be tough to hold on to that spot with so many good teams behind us. |

Losing your starting goalie is just as important as losing any one skater, regardless of how good that skater may be. If you lose a defenseman, there should be someone able to step up and at least fill the hole. If you lose your starting goalie, all you have left is your backup and if he's not up to the task it really doesn't matter how good the rest of the team is. - Jeffmt
you're taking an incredibly simplistic view on this. it depends who the starting goalie is. if it's, say Carey Price in Montreal or Tuuka Rask in Boston or Henrik Lundqvist in New York or Pekka Rinne in Nashville, you're right. when it's James Reimer, you're wrong. and that skater also happens to be the best defenseman in the NHL and one of the top 5-10 players in the world right now.
what the Senators are experiencing right now is equivalent to the Leafs being without Kessel, Lupul, van Riemsdyk and Kadri. all of the injuries affect their offense. it's much easier when the injuries are spread out, as they are with the Leafs. that's where depth comes in. |

No. Just that our boards are dull right now.
Does anyone else hate PJ Stock? - sanfordnson
Mike Johnson makes PK Stock look like a Hall of Fame broadcaster.
Mike Johnson is so... so... so bad. "Boom goes the dynamite" guy might even be a better sports commentator/reporter. |

Sens will fade away. Only one of Montreal and Toronto will make it, and hopefully, only one from the Southeast (aka. The loser point division). |

It was Stock deciding to rip on Hemsky's contract that soured me last night. |

I've got to admit: Smyth got his ass in gear last night.
But Colorado's D is Swiss cheese. Maybe amongst the worst in the NHL without Johnson. If we're willing to deal some surplus D-men, O'Reilly might be attainable. |

No, I think everyone has their mind made up on what he's worth, but after last night, I'm pretty sure D is what the Avs want.
The rumored "roster player" is assuredly a defenseman. |
