I base now what I watch on trying to avoid that STUPID Lucas commercial. I'm toooo lazy to keep changing the channel 50 times an hour everytime that loser commercial comes on. Rather just change the channel & fukken be done with it.
- GCHonda
That commercial is so annoying! I hate helicopter parents, who control every aspect of a kids life. They grow up with no social skills and they, themselves, are uninteresting and boring to be around. Take your yuppie attitude and your heaven sent sperm and egg and head off to your utopian world away from us. Lucas is going to grow up with a complex anyway. Leave the world to the rest of us imperfect sinners who just want to drive fast, drink too much and chase strange women.

I'll have to see it again to remember or mabie not ha ha ha. Man I iwsh they'd give that fukken Lucas a pellet gun & let him go shoot pigeons. You can see how frustrated he looks with his parents stife-ling him at every turn. He's going to grow up a very frustrated, angry man just like in Elvis's song The Ghetto. One day in desperation the young Lucas will run away to steal a car but he don't get far. The crowd gathers around an angry young Lucas with a gun in his hand lying face down IN THE GHETTO!!!!
- GCHonda

Better yet, Lucas offs his parents, in some seedy drug infested flop house, when they come and try to make him change his ways. Can he at least do it on Youtube?

Its getting out of control, local paper here had a helicopter parent write in complaining bc their kid saw a transit driver having a smoke.
Claimed the public worker exposed their kid to a disgusting habit.

Colorado was up 4-1. Now 4-3. Hemsky just scored a highlight reel goal.

It's pretty clear that the Avs desperately need a D-man.

I went over to Yost's whinefest, yesterday and laid it down, on page 3. He set it up so we couldn't win this game. If we lose, we were beaten by and AHL team. If we won, we beat the Binghampton Senators. I also pointed out, that we were missing Reimer, Gardiner, Lupul and Frattin. Sure, they may be missing Cowen, Karlsson and Spezza, plus Michalek. So tell me, is there that big of a difference in talent that is missing on both teams? Spezza and Lupul are a wash, as allstars. Cowen and Gardiner are a wash, both rookie defencemen. Michalek and Frattin are close enough of a tradeoff this year. So that leaves the Noris Trophy defenceman Karlsson and our first string goalie Reimer as a tradeoff. Sure, weighing the four vs four and the Sens are a bit more injured, but it doesn't discount the fact, that we're also missing key components on our team. It goes to show that we have a bit more depth then them, as well.

Some people were wondering why we weren't using our size and grit to dominate them like the Habs.

The problem is that there is literally nobody on that roster willing to mix it up. Neil is the closest thing they have to a gritty player, and he folds like a cheap TV dinner tray when a heavyweight confronts him.

And with this attitude, the Muslim extremists can just wait, until the next generation of brainwashed brats, from their helicopter parents and the socialist teachers, warp them into disowning violence. They can march on in, with their camels and take over, without firing a shot.

Not just that, but Ottawa actually has a good coach that preaches defensive hockey. The Habs are just a bunch of cheapshot artists, that got called out last week, at home, and paid for their chippy play. The Habs won't make the same mistake twice, when we play them next. We better have all hands on deck, when they come in again.

I do find it funny that on Wednesday, they were a playoff team, and on Thursday, they're an AHL team.

I mean, I realize that the player you lost this week was pretty damn good, but would I have been able to find a single Sens fan before the Penguins game willing to admit they were one player away from collapse?

- Leeman4Gilmour

Well Michalek was also out. But yeah I think any Sens fan would have said a loss of Karlsson would take us out of the equation. I mean the guy was playing 30 minutes a night against the top forwards on the other team AND leading the team in goals. We haven't scored since he got injured.

It's not an excuse and it's not to take anything away from the Leafs. But without Karlsson, Spezza, Cowen, and Michalek this team is pretty damn hard-pressed to beat anybody. Just the reality of the situation. It's not even the individual merits of those players (particularly Karlsson and Spezza) - the whole system depends on them. Gryba is not going to replace EK's puck-moving on the back-end and a MacLean team is all about puckmoving.

Realistically this Sens team was not going to compete for the Cup even with a totally healthy roster but losing Karlsson is just such a bummer because of his entertainment value. It's like having Datsyuk get injured (*knock on wood*) - it's everyone's loss.

Not to pick a fight but I don't think any pundit in the universe would equate the loss of Reimer with the loss of Karlsson, who was getting some love as maybe the best player in the league this season (see BMac's twitter). Also Michalek wasn't scoring a tonne this year (probably because Spezza's been hurt) but he was an all-star last season with 35 goals.

No fight intended. You are right, your injuries are more severe, but the Leafs are also missing key players in their lineup. We have three defencemen that were playing in the AHL last year, in our top 6. We have two good young defencemen out of our lineup. Overall the two main forwards on each team are almost a wash. Kessel is not scoring because Lupul is not in the lineup. Frattin has great chemistry with Kadri. We can't compete with a player of Karlssons ability, but we're also playing differently, without Reimer back there, to settle the game down. It's not a huge stretch, to see both teams have horrendous injuries. It's about which team has better depth. At least, we expect to have most of those players back, within a few weeks, unlike the Sens right now.

Losing Karlsson is a huge loss for you guys. I think the point is that the Leafs are missing some key players as well. That doesn't mean our key players are better than yours. It just shows that the Leafs have a little bit more depth. Also Michalek was great last year but this year when he has played hasn't been good at all, while Frattin was on fire.

Pretty boring game to watch. Hope Frattin is back soon, he and Kadri have great chemistry. I for one have not been impressed with Kostka to the level that people are making it out to be. Gardiner deserves to be on this team. Fraser and Franson have been a solid pairing, Liles has played well lately and Phaneuf and Holzer have been a good pair. Kostka hasn't been bad, but I would rather play Gardiner.

If you take Kostka out, you'll have to move Phaneuf back to the right side, while he shoots left. Somehow, they have to get Gardiner back into this lineup. Right now, I see no real puck mover, that can skate the puck out of their zone. When Gardiner is skating, he can go end to end. He would have made a huge difference out there tonight. Somehow, someone needs to get moved, so Gardiner can get back in.

I don't know, but we need all hardass Leafs fans, on deck, to fight off the trolls. Amazing how quiet it is, when the Leafs win and spin a shutout. I notice that the Vancouver troll, that I called out last night, is nowhere to be seen. We were debating his comments about Schneider being better then Reimer. He put one of my quotes, from before the start of the season, in his location spot below his avatar. I pointed out, that Reimer did indeed have better numbers then Schneider. Then Schneider does the unthinkable to him. He lets in 4 goals last night. All I hear from him tonight, is the windchimes, as the wind blows. It's nice to spin a shutout and shut some folks up! I do however, have some sympathy for the decent Sens fans, over the loss of their star defenceman.

(frank) the Sens and the Nucks Toronto is the hockey hub and it pisses them off, only Detroit and Montreal can argue that fact, period.

Yeah the Sens have not been a deep team for a while. Last season we were dragged to the playoffs on the backs of Spezza and Karlsson (and MacLean). This year getting Methot over Kuba is an upgrade but it came at the loss of Foligno up front (who Latendresse was never going to replace). Asking Silfverberg to produce at a 50 point pace in his rookie campaign is asking too much of him when everyone's healthy and it's next to impossible with the Sens' current line-up.

So basically the Sens had 4 legitimate top-6 forwards coming into the season and the defence was pretty weak in the bottom-3 as well. The eliteness of guys like Spezza and Karlsson was probably going to be enough to overcome the lack of depth to get the Sens to the playoffs but it was always going to be the case that if the Sens lost their top players they would suffer more than a more well-rounded team.

One would maybe have preferred that this could have happened in a year where like a Connor McDavid was draft-eligible. But at least with a shortened season the suffering won't be as prolonged. That said it still blows because a healthy Sens team was going to play some pretty entertaining hockey this season. Karlsson was playing at a level I haven't seen from anybody in a Sens uniform other than Alfredsson circa 2005-2006.
