LOL....Not one of them worth acquiring EK....
They have negative value in a trade...
Edit:
Almost forgot...
FIRST... - Fruitcakenipple
If Kurtis Foster has value, all these guys have 5 times that and he had value. Dmen are at a premium, it is the way it is and it will only get worse when the NHL announces the Markham and Quebec expansion teams (but their start is 3 or 4 years off even though I expect the announcement before the 2014 draft).
Pens tried to acquire 37 year old gonchar for offense at the start of the year (source - TSN - interview with gonchar in their videos from the week before seasons started). With injuries to 2 of their best and having no real offensive dman before, trust me they are looking. They are not the only team. Many teams are not happy with their defense and that number might be as much as more than half. To name a few NYI, Ottawa, Edmonton, Anahiem, Colorado, Minnesota, Nashville, Carolina... Their reasons and needs are different but they all have reason to be on the phone. Some to dump players, some to fill future UFA's, some for rentals and others to fill long term holes.
Whitney, the top of the list for example had 27 points in 35 games before being injured 2 years back. Teams remember that and as a rental his salary and cap hit is negligible. He might be just the player they need to make a run. You are kidding yourself if you think they don't have value.
Also names that should be for consideration on this list.
Visnovsky - Not an Islanders fan and the feeling is mutual. He has 4 points in about as many games.
Mark Striet also of NYI - UFA this off season and Unlikely to stay in NY. Incredibly underrated by fans but scouts know what he is worth.
Shea Weber - seeing what PK and Del Zotto signed for has to make them wonder about the possibility of their them only being able to afford Renne and Weber in the future with his contract. The team doesn't make a profit and won't if he has to play with 22 guys making the league minimum.
Yandle - Phoenix says they aren't shopping him and they don't need to but don't believe for a second this is nothing more than a negotiation tool. They are strong on the back end and dumping his salary makes them able to sign a goalie since both of them are UFA's. Plus they are looking for a buyer and the cheaper they are the more likely that gets.
Last Mark Staal - he is great but is he the odd man out. NYR need to generate some offense and their budget is tied up in their first line and a goalie. They are not going to add second line scoring with out dropping salary and unless one of the top 3 is going, Staal might be the only choice.

If the US didn't help the planet by entering in WWII you people would be speaking German right now. So would we, so it's time to shut your mouth. - BallardHitsHard22
You realize you are acting a lot like the scum your US veterans of WWII were fighting against. Its people like you that make the entire world hate Americans. |

Yeah, because saying you'd be speaking German and telling you to shut your mouth is SO similar to burning people in ovens.

No because he's acting like a piece of poop of a human.
Edit: just to add, I feel like WWII was fought for peace and our freedom. This poster hasn't been demonstrating this at all. |

uh, he might be acting ignorant, but in no way is he acting anything like the germans in ww2.
you're just as bad as he is.
let's change the subject to hockey. |

Probably. Hope the Panthers just be smart and tank all the way to 1st overall. We would probably lose the lottery to you guys since the NHL would obviously scam it and give the pick to the Oilers.
Who are the top 3 prospects? In no order, Seth Jones (D) - Nathan MacKinnon (C) : Jonathan Drouin (LW)?
as of right now I'd say Columbus would pick 1st or they would have the best chance at that pick.
2nd would be the Panthers just because of the injuries, lack of effort and worst goals to goals against differential in the NHL at this point in the season (-18).
3rd is tough, I personally think it's going to be Calgary but all of these could change if one of these teams gets hot and picks up some points that screws them out of a top 3 or even a top 5 pick. - BallardHitsHard22

I never once bashed his country or Americans so I don't see how I'm just as bad as he is. |

Okposo for Whitney.... get it done. Both players have needs for their "future" team. Okposo could be the 3rd liner he should be, contributing hussle and defense first which would improve his game and confidence. An Whitney is a physical presence that is much needed on the blue line for the Islanders; with experience. |

too cheap.
One billion dollars.
I'm thinking more along the lines of changing team name for a week or month to whatever the winner wants, or the info line, etc. The only thing we can really bet on on here :\ |

I'm of the mentality that arguing isn't a horrendous thing as many seem to think. Its often how people progress, even if they're ignorant. I don't see the connection of how as soon as someone offers their insight they are automatically "just as bad" just because of it. |

Take that too..... hope you like watching plenty of 2 on 1's against with Visnovsky. Isles could use a goalie for sure that is under 30 and ready to play in the NHL. Nielssen is there, but not sure about a more then 50 games just yet. |
