Thats more of what I meant. I also don't get how people can claim to know what Ennis's ceiling is yet know for a fact ROR will be a better player. Not singling anyone out
- sbroads24

Not saying Ennis is bad but, we need to get bigger down the middle and O'Reilly brings that and more.

Why are you yelling?????

There's no way to know any of that. I guess my fear is that we trade for him but deplete so much of what we have that it's all for naught. I don't want to end up having no talent on the farm like Toronto was for so many years.

Say what you will about Burke, but he actually did a pretty good job of restocking their farm in Toronto.

God. I can't believe I just said that. Now I feel dirty.

Put the A on Kaleta and put him on the 2nd line.
- SABRES 89

He deserves the minutes more than Stafford at this point.

Are you feeling ok??

I actually said yesterday at the game that he deserves the A. After listening to his post game presser after the last Boston game, he certainly sounds like a leader in the locker room.

- HonkFortheGoose

He's been playing great this year and I give credit when it's due, he should have an A because Stafford is no leader. Ott is

No chance he is "head and shoulders better" than Yandle. He may be as good if he stops tripping over his own feet. Yandle has scored over 40 points the last 3 seasons including 59 one year and was a +33. Myers was a +18 with 1 40 point season. I know Myers is younger and less experienced, but his declining stats from season to season are disconcerting. Yandle is way more reliable.
- Pierceme69

He's not that good defensively. He's no Shea Weber who will get 50 pts and shut down a top line, he also won't score 20 goals like Karlsson or Mike Green, Yandle is good but if he is your number 1 shutdown guy you have problems. 6'8 guys are going to trip once and a while anyways, and he showed exactly why you don't trade him yesterday

That's why I like the idea of trading Leo and Stafford. I'd actually movie Ennis back to the wing. He's not a center. He can't win faceoffs and I think putting him at center because we had no one better should be an experiment that ends if we get ROR and Ennis isn't part of the package going the other way.

He did? Because he played well offensively? I could give a rip if he scores goals if he sucks on D. He is a defenseman.

Hard to say what Darcy is offering or thinking, the guy from the 4th period wrote the article about this deal and mentioned Foligno going and I know nobody wants him moved.

He was good defensively, not to mention your not making a great case for bringing In Yandle if you don't care about defenseman scoring

I don't want to trade Foligno, but that being said, he hasn't really played that great. I'd say the jury is out on if he will be a good NHL player or not.

I don't think Yandle is a defensive liability like Myers often is. Granted I haven't watched hundreds of Coyotes games like I have of the Sabres.

DD mentioned that Foligno is currently one of the top power forwards in the league. I'm not sure where he saw it though. My friend that I go to games with said he saw it as well. Foligno was ranked 3rd.

Sabres among teams eyeing O'Reilly?
TheFourthPeriod.com

The Buffalo Sabres are among the teams believed to be interested in Colorado Avalanche restricted free agent center Ryan O'Reilly.

O'Reilly, 21, is still without a contract and the Avs have started to seriously explore the possibility of trading him.

The price tag, however, is steep, as Colorado GM Greg Sherman is asking for a top-six forward and a top prospect in exchange for O'Reilly.

It's unclear how serious talks between the Sabres and Avs have gotten, and it's uncertain what Buffalo GM Darcy Regier is willing to give up, however he does not appear interested in parting with the likes of Mikhail Grigorenko, Cody Hodgson or Tyler Ennis, while though Marcus Foligno could be someone Colorado takes a look at.

The Sabres, currently 12th in the Eastern Conference, would like to upgrade their roster, as Regier has been shopping for a top-six forward since the season started.

Several other teams, though, are also eyeing O'Reilly, including the Toronto Maple Leafs, Florida Panthers, New York Islanders, Philadelphia Flyers and Winnipeg Jets.

O'Reilly is looking for a five-year contract worth around $5 million per season

I like Foligno. I don't know. I think people have an unusual attachment to him because of his dad around here too. I really would rather give up Stafford. He's scored 20+ goals twice and 30+ once. Just because we are sick of him doesn't mean he doesn't have (sick) trade value.

I didn't think he'd be capable of the Hodgson trade either, but he managed to pull that off.

That deal wasn't hard to do IMO, Hodgson's situation in Van, was to much to deal with anymore so that deal for them was a no brainer.

I agree move Staff over Ennis but I doubt the AVS want that or if even Darcy would move Stafford.

ROR situation in Colorado is heading to tenuous as well. Darcy the vulture can swoop in again and pick the bones.

Well you have to do some logical inferring. They want a proven forward. Most of us here are down on Stafford because of his compete level among other things. But he scored 51 goals in the previous two seasons. That's a proven player IMO. They want an offensive D. Leo has scored double digit goals the last two seasons from the blueline. They want a prospect and a draft pick. We have plenty of those.

Believe me, I have every doubt you do about Darcy doing anything like this. I'm just hoping it happens. We get rid of two guys most people wouldn't mind seeing gone and get a stud 21-year-old two-way center. It would be money.
