He wasn't. But looking back to last year, who are you taking off the top 2 lines? - HonkFortheGoose
I agree but if you trade Stafford or Ennis + for say O'Reilly, it would be nice to have depth at wing besides Gerbe who can be placed on the top 6 if needed |

They would match but still move him - SABRES 89
In the old CBA I think you could't trade someone after they sign an offer sheet. Not sure if that's still true. |

If the asking price for O'Reilly is an offensive defenseman, a proven forward, a prospect, and a draft pick why not Leopold, Stafford, any prospect they want besides McNabb, Pysyk, or Armia, and our #2? |

Fun fact: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins went longer than Drew Stafford without scoring his first goal of the season. |

I don't think they'd take Leopold since his contract is up at the end of this year. Hasn't he also played in Colorado before?
It's not a bad idea though. I would say nothing that high for a draft pick though. Earliest pick I would go is 4th rounder. |

I agree. The problem is he's not a 4th line type player and that's the role he's been shoved in as well. He's more skilled than that. Go figure he got put with guys that actually can do stuff offensively and he's looked better. |

The fact his contract is expiring might be attractive. He's a $3 million cap hit you shed at the end of the year if he doesn't perform. If he does you can bring him back. As for the draft pick, O'Reilly is better than anyone you could hope to draft in the 2nd round. He's only 22 so it's not like you're blowing your youth away by getting some grey beard. |

In all fairness he kills penalties well and he seems to be in good position to score often. If the guy could finish a scoring chance he'd probably have 4 or 5 goals and people would love him. |

Youre crazy if you think ROR is worth 2 roster players, a prospect and a pick.
Nash was worth Dubinsky, Anisimov, Ericsson and a 1st for comparison.
ROR is not worth as much. Player and a pick or player and a prospect. Thats it. |

He hasn't been able to finish scoring chances his whole career. He was horrible last night, he's becoming a turnover machine, his Sabre day should have ended IMO |

Tell that to Colorado. That's what they reportedly want. You wouldn't trade the players I suggested for him? Two guys who have underacheived big time this season, but have the qualities the Avs covet, a prospect, and a pick that could end up being nothing? |

No. Hecht is not good. The game is too fast for him. Hes too old. The drive wide and flip a blind back hand sauce on net is stale. You should play a drinking game. Take a shot every time Hecht does the above. You wouldnt remember the third period. I think 90% of his goals come from bad angles or stupid lucky bounces.
Only Buffalo would play this guy as much as they do. |

Can't argue with that. One of those goals almost sent us to the cup finals. If only we didn't have our 10th and 11th d-men in that game. |

The offer for O'Reilly will come down soon he's no Nash and the AVS will find out. There are about 7 teams that have interest in him so now the price is up, when teams start saying no thanks it will change. You won't be able to dump out trash to the AVS for him that won't happen. |
