So you'd rather see him stay a member of the Avalanche?

I really don't have any. I wouldn't be surprised to see them get their asses kicked, but at the same time, it wouldn't shock me if they figured out a way to win, and then drop the next two against Winnipeg and Toronto.

How long do you think this O'Reilly saga drags out?

My sleeper team to get him is the Isles.

- sabresfandan

what makes you think Isles ?
hopefully KO is in the deal.....

That sounds about right.

This team is so frustrating.

I plan on watching, but not paying attention. Bought a new storm door for my house, going to try to figure out how to install it. I refuse to give Home Depot $97 to do it for me.

I'll be at the game.

It's funny that you mention a storm door. The handle fell off of mine today. I haven't called the property manager yet though. I currently have an issue of the Metro wedged in it so I can get in when I leave.

That's what the AVs are asking?!
Wow
If some crazy GM is willing to do that he's nuts! I certainly hope we wouldn't
I like the idea of O'reilly, but that's just way too much

I actually think that is the most probable sequence of events. Sabres and Penguins very rarely have games that aren't close.

Last year not too long before Christmas. The Pens lit us up like a Christmas tree.

Last year, the Hockey Day in America game ended up 6-2 Buffalo. I guess you could say it was close, but Buffalo did end up running away with it. It was the beginning of Buffalo's annual heroic march to 9th place.

I was there for that one. Miller stopping Malkin on a breakaway changed the complexion of the game.

Hes average. Not a very good goalie.

I think he has 12 or 13 pts already, almost at his grand total of 23 from last year.

Pffft. Cody Hodgson has 13 pts too. 10 of them banked off his back and chest.

He's not a difference maker, even if he were to duplicate that performance here. It means nothing. Players get inflated totals on bad teams all the time.

At least he is around the net. Most of our team likes taking bad angle shots from the perimeter

Where would he even fit in the top 6 here anyway? He wouldn't. That's the problem.

He had 40 goal seasons. He has been a difference maker before. He was good enough for the Isle to put on their 1st line and produce, but only good enough to play on our 4th. Another guy we gave up a 2nd round pick for that was not used properly

Even understanding what happened on Friday, I still think they're at a point that you could interchange anybody outside of Vanek, Hodgson, Pominville, and maybe Ennis that isn't named Matt Ellis or John Scott, and I'm not sure you'd see much of a difference.

Could he be worse than Stafford? Could he make our PP any worse? Not saying I miss him but he wasn't used properly.

I think if you took Foligno off the team it would make a difference. Other than that, you're probably right.

He wasn't. But looking back to last year, who are you taking off the top 2 lines?
