Could we interest you in a Tomas Kaberle? His rosey cheeks would look great in orange.
- stinger67

We can give you Fedotenko, Knuble and Lilja in exchange for Kabs and tonight all 4 will switch locker rooms.

we have no way of knowing that, but nobody's been a bigger pk advocate here. he'll be a Norris candidate for yrs, IMO.
- isaiah520

Probably...

Imagine this:

Coburn - Subban
Kimmo - Schenn
Grossmann - Mez

That's a scary good looking D

I'll do it.

Should be dirt cheap....the going rate as of late points to a 3rd or 4th

No way, his salary is ridiculous!

I don't believe that Subban was ever available, unless you blew them away with an offer. And I'm not sure I would trade Couturier for Subban.
- MJL

Anyone who would not trade Couturier for Subban has rocks in their head in my opinion.

I really would like to see Gus get a chance. Is MAB still suffering from his concussion?

Anyone else wondering why Wellwood isn't back yet ?

Insane speed, great offensive zone entries with possession, responsible defensively and a + 12 in 31NHL games.

Yes to Bourdon.

Gustafsson will get his chance eventually. Hopefully soon.

No & to get one is not worth the cost & hurting another area on the team.......going to be a painful ride but one they probably won't be able to avoid.

Stand pat and use players in your own system. Play with what you have and keep the picks. Start loading up the farm.

I've wanted Gus from the Beginning. They really should give him a shot with all the injuries. i also like Wellwood. Can some of these extra wingers bring in any draft picks?

He has been hurt himself and is still getting back into shape last update we had, can't force or rush it.

I would love to see Lavy distribute the talent a bit better and give the team 3 lines realistically capable of scoring goals. He does switch up combinations often but lacks creativity in doing it in my opinion. There is no harm in being creative for a period or two or a few games even and seeing what clicks and doesn't. The key is being able to adjust and adapt and to identify quickly what works and doesn't. Note that the team breakout strategy and transition game still need a lot of work.

Schenn - Giroux - Voracek
(Schenn and Voracek are the best offensive players right now on the team and the chemistry they have is incredible. Maybe those two can get Giroux going.)

Talbot - Briere - Simmonds
(Danny with Knuble and Fed isn't working for me. Talbot has shown last year he can score, he is defensively responsible and he can also take faceoffs in the D zone. Simmonds is strong on the boards and can create space for Briere.)

McGinn - Read - Couturier
(Read is an amazing all-around/versatile player who can score, backcheck and generate offense with speed. Couts can play center, take faceoffs, is incredible defensively although I wish he was given more opportunities to show his offensive talents. The first two mentioned forwards being relatively small, a big body like McGinn is a nice addition to the line.)

Rinaldo/Wellwood - Fedotenko - Knuble
(Short shifts, limited TOI)

I'm not sure we've seen these line combinations this year. Would be nice to try and see if we can generate more scoring chances. Having below 2.5 G/G is not enough. With those lines obviously comes the need to play good overall team defense without a specific shutdown line. That being said, timely defensive zone faceoffs taken by G, Couts or Talbot is always an option with the center changing up after the faceoff is taken, like Laviolette has been doing lately.

Like those lines. Briere centering with simmonds is a good idea

also, i think that was my last visit to the devils arena. they don't cheer for their team when they score, they say to the opponent "you suck"

if a kid playing sports did that you'd say they had very poor sportsmanship, what a horrible group of rude a-holes in there. i thought if i got tickets down low people might be better behaved, but nope, our neighbors were once again rude jerks.

- Don'tForgetTocchet

i've made one visit to the rock, in 08-09, the first game between the flyers/devils that year. the flyers crushed them, but i made a decision then that it would be the last time i go to a game in nj, primarily because i hate the fans. far more than the team. (frank)ing loathe them to the core.

My biggest issue is that there's no sign of being able to adjust. It's as if, when something doesn't work, they seem to simply try harder to make it work, rather than try something different.

Granted the defense is ugly. But the forwards are doing a poor job of supporting them. And as ugly as the defense is, adjustments can be made to mitigate their shortcomings.

- Jsaquella

speaking of failing to adjust, i lost count of how many times the flyers dumped the puck perfectly for brodeur to play it right out of the zone. they had zero attack after the first period. dump, chase, dump, chase, dump, chase. it was mind numbing.

Saw Erik Gustafsson walk into Bell Centre, so that may give you some idea on Kimmo Timonen's injury.
