Don't point out the obvious.

Hes a middle of the road guy, who's worth neither the years or the money.

- potvin05

Not saying nor did i ever the guy was an incredible player but for this team and most teams for that matter 67 points is tough to let walk. Maybe the Islanders are in better shape then I suspected?

Why? Five years of drafting in the top five should be enough time, sprinkle in aq couple even decent FA's and blammo you have a competitive team. Snow has not been able to do that and by his own words he said it would be 5 years to be competing for the Stanley Cup. Couldn't have failed worse at this promise. Of course he should be held accountable, it's not a debate to anyone with common sense.

One thing I'll give credit to Snow for is he really has not blamed the last guy over and over like a certain someone does. You really do not hear that in sports.

Hes so great that Brad (frank)ing Boyes is doing exactly what he did! Amazing. Padded his stats thanks to the 65 goals that were scored on his line. Shocking.

Just what I remembered. Nothing. Not one memorable goal.

Pass.

- potvin05

This is a pretty ridiculous comment. One memorable goal? This team has done nothing when he was here, what would make a memorable goal with the team picking in the top five once again. He's not worth 4million dollars because his 67 points were'nt "memorable" to you?

I hate to point out the obvious to you, but he TURNED DOWN that money from us. He wasn't taking that contract until way after July 1st.

You get so defensive with the PA discussion. I don't think anyone is sayin the guy is the second coming of Bossy but 67 points is tough to let walk for nothin whether you are a fan or not. Having PA in addition to Boyes would have been good. Who would PA have prevented from playing? Acoin? Macdonald?

I'm not sure why Snow bothers with placing any blame. It's not like Wang gives him heat about the team and he never seems to be around to answer questions. At least MM put himself out there.

He got offered a good contract and turned it down. Hes gone now. Sorry if I don't hold a candle to this guy. He got what he could. Good for him. Hes not a big loss.

This is where I and I'm guessing some others disagree which is fine. Him with additions could've made our team more competitive?

I'm pissed. Nah. I think its funny a mediocre player has become Chuck Norris. Hes a 40 to 50 point guy who beefed up thanks to JT and Moulson.

This is the last PA post I make.

I want to aim higher. We offered something pretty good (and similar) to what he got. He turned it down and HE moved on. Some of you should too.

We are the Islanders. We cannot pick and choose UFAs, so if were throwing 4 year contracts around, ones that get accepted, of course, I'd rather a younger, bigger guy who in 4 years is 29, 30, or 31. I'd rather play our kids and try to entice guys here because the guys we have MAKE other players WANT to play here.

I think Wang selling would be awesome, but this is our reality. Anyone, besides KO, can put statistics up playing on a line that scored 61 goals by 2 guys on one line. Why should we overspend for a guy like PA. A nice player, that's it.

Still putting all the blame on Snow...

You know if he had the money, the arena, and full cupboard of prospects, things would have been handled a little differently.

We now have and arena, a full cupboard of prospects... 2/3 of the way there.

But Wang will never put up the money.

Best thing that can happen... is a new owner next year... which will mean a new president of hockey, and I'm sure a new GM.

Everybody will be happy.... well almost everybody!!!!

He was 'okay'. Like I said, last 18 games (3g 5a). That's what I think PA typically would produce if not on a top line. He's a decent player but would I think the team ultimately needs to do better in our top 6. He would have been useful on the second line this year, but 4 years? Nah.

I think Snow is going to have a lot of questions to answer and deserves plenty of heat from the press regardless of how much fault he deserves. The fact of the matter is we've reached the end of year 5. If we don't manage to at least slide into a playoff spot, Snow needs to address why the proper steps weren't taken and why this team ultimately failed it's goal for a fifth consecutive year.

We all know that there won't be any accountability from Wang after this year, but the heat should be turned up by the public. I've constantly said that folks need to remember this is a completely different type of rebuild that would be slower than your typical five year fix-it, but that doesn't mean the GM shouldn't be held accountable.

- keaner17

The team hasn't reached the playoffs because bailey never panned out to be a #2 center like he was projected to be, okposo is invisible now and comeau was waived for nothing. Also, DeHann is an injury machine and their goaltending has been below average.

Those are 4 players that were once supposed to be top 6 forwards and a good two way d man all giving us 0.

You're right that ths rebuild is different. The prospect pool was so depleted and the team lost all of its good players in 2007 that it was basically an expansion team that snow took over.

But that Mediocre player that was only good because of his line mates is playing just as well on another team with different line mates.
