- Pairo11

I'd love Iginla...
But there's no chance he waives his NTC to go here
I'd think he'd wanna go to a "contender"

O'reilly would be nice,
But is center really an immediate need for us?
I think we're pretty strong down the middle (I expect Grigorenko to grow into a solid player for us)
O'reilly is certainly more well rounded than Ennis, but wants a deal that is almost double Ennis' cap hit, and with so many teams likely interested we'd prob have to overpay for him to the point where it's just not worth it IMO
If we could make a reasonable deal for him,
That'd be great...
But at this point I don't see that happening

I like the E.Kane idea a lot,
But he comes with baggage & would likely cost a ton to get

I agree with all of this. As much as I'd like O'Reilly for several reasons, there are a few very large question marks that he comes with. One of which, IMO, is his attitude. There's something about him that just doesn't sit well with me.

I suppose. But we didn't have to give up a poop ton to get him either. As much as I was excited to have Kassian, I liked Foligno more, so to see Kassian go wasn't a big deal.

That's a good point
A change of scenery is sometimes all a young player needs to straighten himself out
I'm not opposed to E.Kane or O'reilly...
I just want whatever deals we may make to be sensible and not a result of being desperate
Darcy isn't really one to overpay though anyways

Someone posted his article about O'reilly the other day
It's a good read if u missed it
It def makes a good enough point for me to want him here
I'd just rather not give up Ennis to do it
(btw, am I the only one here that really likes Ennis?)

It took Miller a few years to become the goalie he is now
Price will get there for u guys
He is super talented, just let him hit puberty (haha, jk) and he'll be fine...
Heck, I'll bet u most Sabres fans would actually trade u Miller for Price straight up right now

I like Ennis, I just think that O'Reilly has more of the intangibles. It also makes room to put Grigs on the 2nd line and O'Reilly on the 3rd.

That being said, I still think based on player stats and everything that Ennis for O'Reilly straight up should essentially be able to do it seeing as how Ennis has had a better career statistically. I realize why this wouldn't be enough. But I'm not so sure that we should give up more for him.

No, Ennis a good. He's done everything we've wanted him to since being drafted. People want him traded because they know he has value and they just want change for the sake of change.

I'm going out to Cleveland for the Lake Erie/Rochester game on March 3rd.

I love that rivalry.

Good news indeed. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed when I checked the box score from last night and his name wasn't on the roster. It was starting to worry me. I just hope that he's really ready.

Michael Peca had attitude too when it came to his contract. It was still a mistake to not sign him.

Personally I think there is no better time than right now to package Tyler Ennis for a solid player like O'Reilly (sp).. Don't get me wrong, I like Ennis as a player and he is producing but he's small, will wear down over a season and isn't terrific defensively or on faceoffs. He's complimentary. He is what he is.

ROR would immediately be your best leader on your team. Your best faceoff guy, your best penalty killer. He's young. If he's asking $5M per he'd be a steal especially in a year or two.

If I can get ROR for Ennis and a pick/prospect I'd be all over it. Not saying he's going to turn into Messier overnight but I think he's a budding star (not elite mind you) that would anchor your team for years..

...sucks balls right now. He couldn't win a battle against a zit right now.

And the name of the game is to make the playoffs, isn't it?

Anything than can be done to improve this team, and get it closer to being a contender should be looked at.

So would Tim Kennedy.

Concerning Peca I think the only thing he would have done differently is played the year and negotiated while he was playing. At the very least he could have played his way into a trade or a solid contract.

I just know he said that he regrets the way things happened. I think he realized how good he had it here and that he needed Buffalo just as much as Buffalo needed him.

I think it's a good lesson for a lot of guys. The grass isn't always greener.

Yep. He had fans, found his wife here and had a solid team. He saw his opportunity for a pay day and held out. Unfortunately he was dealing with the most stubborn, short-sighted GM in the league.

Peca was the first jersey I ever bought. As soon as I bought it he held out.

It was my fault.
