I didn't think they were that great. We controlled the whole game.
- Scooby_Doo

I like their forwards, but their defence will hold them back and they're (frank)ed if Lehtonen is out. I thought the Canucks dominated the first period, the second was a little more even but I'd give the Canucks the edge again and the Stars won the third period. Stars basically played better as the game went on.

Of course not, we all know his capacity and he didn't hit it tonight. But neither did several others and what drives me nuts at times is how the Van media and many fans jump all over the goalies like they were the only guy out there for 60 mins.

We hit 4 posts, we had a legit goal disallowed, and our team was in cruise control after the 3 fights, and we got outplayed the last 2 periods. I think our guys get paid enough to give maximum effort for more than half the game.

Agreed %100. Just expected a bit more out of Schneids, but this situation can't be easy on him. All the pressure is on Schneider right now—Lou's going out there without a care in the world.

Not an enviable position for Schneider to be in, with a goalie like Luongo on the bench.

Krejci, Hodgson, and Purcell don't like being so low in the depth charts, and have requested trades...
- Fosco

I might shoot you an offer for Krejci or Hodgson. I just got a deal done for Weber and finally don't have an extra d-man plus my forward group looks pretty damn solid now.

Fasth looks like the real deal giving me 3 solid goalies as well.

Good point, the roles are definitely reversed now. At the same time, this is a great situation to see how Schneider handles the pressure and adversity and to see if he has what it takes to take a team to the promise land IMO.

Yeah it's a pressure-cooker situation made all the worse by the media seemingly asking the same few questions over and over ad nauseam.

I would still prefer to see if our team as a whole had what it takes to play a full 60 mins. Anyone who thinks they did tonight is kidding themselves.

Yeah, never really thought about it like that.

Always figured Schneider had a lot of pressure trying to prove he's a number one, but that's really nothing compared to the pressure of retaining the number one spot on a good team.

Yeah, it must be annoying to have to answer the exact same questions over and over again, but it's not as bad when the team wins. I think Gillis made the right move by not allowing the media to talk to the backup goalie on game days.

On the positive side, Kesler looked better than I thought he would today and it was nice to see that he ditched the "take a wrist shot from the blueline" play and diving antics that he seemed to love last season, hopefully that continues. He also looked good with Kassian, Kassian made a great pass to him right in the slot and does a great job of taking the physical pressure off of Kesler to be the power forward on his line. Was also night to see the team step up for Burrows after he got hammered.

Yeah, he was solid. I thought Higgins played great too and Hamhuis made some nice defensive plays. Bieksa and Garrison don't look good together at all IMO, and the Ballard-Tanev pairing wasn't as good as usual.

Yeah, that no goal call on Mayray was questionable but at the end of the day you can't blow a 3-1 lead as a team.
- Nucker101

The ref called it by the book on that play

I guess so, but it seemed like Raymond making contact with the goalie had nothing to do with the goal being scored, but I can live with it since they went by the actual rule.

It was a good goal. Refs (frank)ed up. The contact had no affect on whether the puck went in or not.

The only rule they followed was that the call on the ice stands. Basically a "(frank) you, I'm right cause I said so," rule.

U_G has no image and certainly no respect, the guys a nut, thus making your statement invalid and confirming that you are, after all, on meds.
