Calgary wants to remain competitive...if they *do* move Iginla, it would likely be for an NHL ready player, or someone very close. Cant say the Sabres have this to offer if they want to compete for the cup in the next couple years. - Colin Dambrauskas
Wait wait wait are you guys as delirious about your team comepting as we are with ours?
See Ek's blog.........If you consider that a good source...... - bradjc
Yea. it makes no sense. He talks about trading Iggy to BUF but then states that CGY is unbalanced on the D cap wise. Shouldn't it be some kind of D trade rumor from the Flames?
I can't see Iggy waving for BUF; they're not really contenders at the moment.

As for O'Reily-no way he's traded in the conference, let alone the division unless theres an offer the Avs just can't refuse and I can't see the Flames making that (Sutter is gone right?)

to pitts
Iggy and Jbo and a 1st 2013
to clg
beau bennet, kunitz, paul martin, olli matta and a 2nd 2013

Here you go
"Iggy is on the last year of a deal...so why not see what is left in the tank and rid yourself of some dead weight, like Stafford, Sekera and Enroth"
see the crap I have to read everyday
wouldnt you love a goalie who cant make saves a 4 mil winger who cant score and a defensemen who gives up a goal every game but scores once in 10 so its ok.

Smokin'? More like fryin your brain. That's a terrible set of trades for CGY. Trading the 3 guys you said should get us to 4 1st rounders, not down 1. Seriously, dude, lay off the pot.

No...but Feaster isnt up for selling assets for picks, type of thing. Any bigger moves he makes will be one that allows the Flames to compete, all while getting younger/better down the road.

That's terrible............
Why would COL want Iggy? They're not pushing for a cup this year. But, if you want to play this way, I will take the Avs 1st and Armia from BUF. - TandA4Flames
Theory was COlorado needs a LW
Big on Armia? Nothing about him screams im going to be a top NHL PLayer

It's starts with one of thier young centers grig or hodgson or that Latvian kid they drafted in the same draft as grig. Plus a first. I don't see enroth being a target like the blog says

Even as a Sabs fan I dont think Enroth is a starter in the AHL

thinkpositional, you get a potential 1st line center in ROR, a great prospect in bennet ( who i believe has a history with goudreau). 2 guys that could jump into the line up kunitz, would replace tangs and martin could run 2nd line pp. the 2nd could be a great pick considering pitts will probably finish close to tops in the east. As colin stated clg wants to stay competitive.
saying that calgary will get 3 firsts for iggy and jbo seems a little far off. pitts will want to replace bennet/maatta, so cgy 1st has to get put in.
also if iggy and jbo did get traded they go to contenders, so your firsts are not going to be in the top 10. haha i love the pot

More like, why would Iggy give up his no trade to go to COL, or BUF. Both these teams can want him all they like, but Iggy gets the final say, and the FLAMES have a better shot at making the playoffs than both of those teams. So, I don't know why we are even talking about Iggy being traded to non-playoff teams. Let's talk about Iggy to Boston or Pit, or Chicago, as they have legitimate shots at winning a cup, and teams like that are the only teams he would wave his no trade for.

Dude put the pot away. ROR is NOT a 1st line centre. Ridiculous trade proposal.

Ohohohohoho....kkkkk, you do love the pot.
Anywho, you included Tangs in your trades. Iggy, JBo & Tangs all garner a 1st + prospect to varying degrees... a top one for Iggy. And that is only starting points for them.

Hahahaha! I know what your saying. Leave out the ROR trade and I think the return to calagry for jbo iggy and a first could be a good deal. Getting maatta, bennet with 2 roster players and a second is not bad deal. I completely understand the calgary 1st being a hard pill to swallow tho, and it doesnt awnser the center issue. But calgary would then hace a few more pieces to maje a move for a center. Or perhaps try and smooze getz in signing next year.
What could you prespose that could top the thorton trade?
