Nope, at least not right now. If thy end up as lottery team, that pick could land a better defenseman than Sbisa.
- Jsaquella

Homer will pick a forward regardless

I can't see Anaheim doing that in a million years. Sbisa is a better prospect than Luke Schenn and Ryan is valued way higher than Brayden.
- NickTheKid87

I'm not so sure that Sbisa is a better prospect then Luke Schenn.

Agreed, however, Schenn has been given a lot more opportunities than Sbisa thus far.

It's close. Both bring different things to the table. Either way, it's not large enough of a disparity to make up for what Anaheim wants for Ryan.

What is Sbisa? Is he an Offensive defenseman? Obviously there are some players ahead of him, that take away icetime. But he doesn't play that much on the PP. He's obviously still young. But do you ever see him as a top PP QB or point producer from the backend? He just seems like a tweener to me. Not overlly good in any one area. Just a good all around guy who is decent at a lot of things. I think Luke Schenn has a chance to be more then that, in terms of a shut down defender.

Keep hearing this is the deepest draft since 2003 and the top 30 heavy on forwards.....so you know we will draft a center

Good point. Regardless, I don't see Anaheim accepting that deal.

If they get a kid like Ryan Polluck, it would be awesome. But they could end up picking a forward...I'm a big advocate of taking the best available player, position be damned.

Homer will draft a center then trade Cooty or Schenn and they will go on to be Patrick Sharp

would anyone trade our #1 for Sbisa?
- vejim

I would at the deadline, if I was pretty certain the Flyers were a lock to make the playoffs at that time. But with Anaheim looking very good so far, why would they want to trade a top 4 dman for a pick going into the playoffs??

According to wordnik.com:
“Sbisa is steady without being flashy and has made dramatic improvements in just one season on North American soil.”

Homer should have cut that deal to get Colton Orr when he had the chance.
